The Steelers still had good defense in the 80's but their offense was pretty bad

Oilers would have lost 27-17 instead of 27-13. The blown call was irrelevant.

btw...The 5 best MNF Games of All Time 5. Giant vs 49ers 1990 The buildup to this game began when the schedule was released. Both were 10-1 and on a collision course to knock out the other in the inevitable playoff matchup to come for Championship glory. 4. Redskins vs Colts 1978 Yes...Yes. Same year as the the classic you're watching now. Who knew that might, MNF would never return to Memorial Stadium after this game. This was about Bert Jones, showing everyone how special he was and a leader. Jones was the heart and soul of the 3 times in a row AFC East Champs, but a devastating shoulder injury suffered In the Preseason along with player movement, other injuries to key players, and a Owner who was actively shopping the team to other cities derailed what should've been another exciting season. So when the MNF crew arrived in Baltimore the season was already over, but Bert Jones wanted to prove he was a great QB. The result was great theatre. 3.Bears vs Dolphins 1985 Did anyone really, I mean REALLY believe the Bears were going to walk of the Orange Bowl field still undefeated??? 2. Redskins vs Packers 1983 Washington was 2 points from a perfect regular season. Losing to Dallas and Green Bay both on MNF, but their game against the Packers was something special. Both teams scored within their offensive philosophy. Lynn Dickey almost 500 yards passing, the Redskins running it up, but Joe Theisman was getting it in too, but in the end it was a Mark Mosley missed extra point and fg at the gun that was the difference. The 'Skins wouldn't lose again until their massacre in the Super Bowl. A Great Season, but one of missed opportunities.

The best MNF game of All Time. No doubt. Those of us who watched it as it happened (I watched with a blanket in the crack of my door. I was 10 and my little brother 8. We were supposed to be sleeping. I was like, ain't no way I'm missing this game, knowing if I got caught, my ass would would get torn up. Little brother was scared. I told him to do 2 things, man up, and shut up. If you get all ohhhy and ahhhie both our ass are gonna be burned up. By the end of the game we couldn't wait til the morning to talk about it. How GREAT it was. Im waiting on a 30 for 30 on this game. One of my childhoods most fondest memories. I didn't want it to end.

The First three Draft picks in 1971 were, in order, Jim Plunkett, Archie Manning, and Dan Pastorini. The Raiders had Plunkett on the Roster, but Traded Stabler to the Oilers for Pastorini so the Raiders had the #1 and #3 picks from the 1971 draft on their roster. The Oilers traded for Manning when Stabler was let go. However, the Raiders tried to trade Stabler to New Orleans for Manning. You wonder what Manning might have done on a good Raider team that Plunkett took the Super bowl.

A memorable game of when "Trash Talk Goes Wrong!" Prior to the game, the Falcons' star receiver Andre Rison trash talked the Oilers' receivers by saying that they were not that good. He said, "if Warren Moon had us, Houston would go to the Super Bowl." The game turned very chippy with numerous fights throughout. In that game, the Oilers imitated the Falcons who in turn imitated the Oilers. Here are the moments of imitation in that game: 28:36 - Steve Jackson intercepts Andre Rison at the goal line and celebrates by imitating Rison's duck walk. 1:29:26 - Andre Rison touchdown for Atlanta imitating the Oiler's Ernest Givins' electric slide. The Oilers won the game 33 -17 and went on to win the AFC Central Division with a 12-4 record (the best record of all time for the franchise). The Falcons lost that game and four out of five to finish with a 6-10 record, missing the playoffs altogether.
