Thank you for the upload I always say this season was proof trading Warren Moon was a MISTAKE he was the trigger to the run and shoot

I can't believe that the fanbase let Bud Adams down. I mean 7 straight playoff appearances isn't nothing to sneeze at. The second they started to lose they stopped coming to the games.

I would have bled Columbia Blue if you cut me back in those days. Adam’s was the reason for the losing streak. He blew the team up on purpose in 94 because he was pissed they didn’t make it to the Super Bowl the year before. Moon was 38 years old and expensive, it was the first year of the salary cap, so he traded him for cap money to Minnesota. They released a lot of talent that off season that doomed them to lose. At the same time, Adams was making public comments that he would move the team if he didn’t get a new stadium. Houston had just renovated the dome for him 5 years earlier and I think the city was just done with him being manipulative. It was a city scorned.

Anyone notice that the Oilers used a tight end exclusively on the first drive. Only 3 wide receivers.

Not sure I like the fact that they fired Pardee after making the playoffs 4 years in a row. Only to hire a coach that was mediocre at best for 4 plus years.

@@ProfessorWisdom88 I mean Jeff Fisher did a good job, but Pardee should have had some room for error.

I have read from one article from UPI that Bud Adams was critical of the team that season and both Pardee and Gilbride. I have read from an NYT article that Pardee was in the last year of his contract, so Adams fired him and signed Jeff Fisher to a three-year contract.

@@ThatDoesntWorkForMeBrother Fisher didn't demand the money Pardee or Gilbride commanded either. Its important to remember that 1994 was the beginning of the salary cap era where teams lost a lot of players because they commanded to much money.

@@davidaulds7031 bud had pretty much said that the team was going to pulled apart in 1994 due to the salary cap and when buddy ryan left for Arizona they were pretty much rudderless. They only other solution might have been to fire pardee and gilbride at the end of 93 and hand the keys to buddy ryan

The Pass Rush is a very subjective thing, it worked in this era much better because Linemen weren't the athletes they are today. With a good QB a pass rush is garbage 80% of the time, and if your defense is to blitz heavy or to zone heavy you will have YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU game after game!
