The First three Draft picks in 1971 were, in order, Jim Plunkett, Archie Manning, and Dan Pastorini. The Raiders had Plunkett on the Roster, but Traded Stabler to the Oilers for Pastorini so the Raiders had the #1 and #3 picks from the 1971 draft on their roster. The Oilers traded for Manning when Stabler was let go. However, the Raiders tried to trade Stabler to New Orleans for Manning. You wonder what Manning might have done on a good Raider team that Plunkett took the Super bowl.

The man was great. It's because he was the only player that was great on his team. His team were horrible. He didn't even have 1 good player on the saints.
