This is wonderful. Only radio can really do this style of situation comedy: a mixture of sound effects, circular dialogue, and perfect timing to generate laughter. Apart from elsewhere in the Goon Show (like the brilliant "What time is it, Eccles?" sketch), another superb one - also coincidentally involving door knocking - is Tony Hancock's The Christmas Club where Tony and Sid argue at length about who should answer the knock on the door. :-)

There is genuinely nothing worse that hurting your lower lumbar when committing a bank robbery..... honestly, it made me throw in the towel and give up!!! It's a young mans game. But upon reflection, all you young bank robbers.... I tell you, nay implore you; wear a girdle, wear a lifting belt, practice your deadlift, perhaps get a nice firm mattress to sleep on and perhaps you'll be robbing banks into your late 70's or beyond and by god.... I wish you all the luck in the world!!!!!
