I’m Australian and I loved this sense of humour. U.S humour can be crass or overly sweet and predictable. Pity intelligence humour is not written much anymore.

THe point of being an actor is to do what you're told by the director, not what you want to do. See marlon brando for the ur God of examples.

So interesting I should come across this video today. Earlier this week I was out working and suddenly started singing to myself "A million housewives every day, pick up a piece of string and say God Bless Tim Brooke-Taylor." He was the first person I personally knew who died of covid.😢

I can't believe I've only just realised this, but the End of Time cliffhanger is Rassilon saying the Time Lords are going to return, but then a good chunk of part 2 is Rassilon trying to figure out how they're going to return. It's like a reverse Brexit, which I will call Genter

For anybody who hasn't tried it, I would strongly recommend Domain of the Voord as it is a really awesome story that actually gives the Voord a lot more depth than just in Marinus. The performances are great and the world it crafts felt very real. It also manages to keep itself to a 1960s style whilst going a lot further with ideas and scenes that probably wouldn't have been approved by the BBC back then.

The golden age of the Simpsons was from season 2-8, but the last good simpsons was season 10. After season 10 everything beyond that is unwatchable and complete garbage. The Simpsons should have ended after season 10.

I’m a trans man who grew up watching Friends and when it comes to the Chandler’s dad story I find it discouraging. It’s not fully outwardly transphobic but the constant misgendering of the trans character is disappointing. However, I will say, I always related to Chandler in his insecurities especially with his masculinity so I think I’m a weird way the show was kinda full circle on Chandler when it comes to queerness. Idk how well that was written sorry for the long comment lol

Now I wonder if RTD was trying to subvert Disney’s “dead mother” trope in an underhanded way with Ruby’s family arc. Besides paying tribute to The Last Jedi, of course.

More seriously, I loved your analysis of season 40. I agree a lot of it was aimed at the next generation of Wno fans. I too loved 73 Yards, such a great atmosphere and Millie Gibson sold every scene, Althougn I am no fan of historical romance I really enjoyed Rogue, an old school romp with NuWho tropes. For me. along with Boom Ncuti's best story. I enjoyed Rogue. The writers brought a different energy to proceedings and I hope we see some new voices next year. I really enjoyed Bonnie Langford's Mel. Great to see her again. A mixed bag, but that's always the case. The finale was - in my mum's words - a hot mess! I tnink Sutekh was far scarisr in the earlier version. Thanks again for a funny and well-reasoned review. Oh and I remember fruit salad chews for a penny, but I’m so old that I remember Spangles! Take care and Im looking forward to your thoughts on Inside No 9.

if 90 percent of humans are poor and jobless, then who is buying all of the stuff from kerblam? its a trope that gets used in dystopian fiction a lot. but its always confused me, cause...economies generally need people to buy things.

the problem with the simpsons doing weird, absurd things within the canonicity of the show is that it won't be The Simpsons anymore. It'll be Family Guy
@ir10419 күн бұрын
I can still have it on in the background but the characters are all just the absolute worst and have no redemption at all, besides Sheldon becoming slightly more human. Complete opposite to a show like Schitt’s Creek where I pretty much hated all the Rose’s and then they all go through incredible transformations and become better people. Would actually be interested in your take on this show as I really enjoyed it.

Ruby was very poorly defined as a character and "73 Yards" just began to stratch the surface. With RTD returning, I was hoping to bring emotional realism back to Who but she was just as one dimensional as "The Fam".

The only thing I'll say about Ross is that a lot of his behaviors ARE incredibly realistic to women, while you may think it's completely out of this world for a man to lie about still being married to a woman, this is a realistic worry a lot of women trying to get divorced have.

Thanks for the first half-way interesting take on Dot & Bubble. It's one of the worst episodes I've seen of the show, but it's nice to hear from somebody it landed for. There's a couple of moments in here I had to question and I think you're doing that Nostalgia Critic thing (sorry) where you focus a big chunk of video on a parroted criticism of something you overheard vaguely. These episodes have been the most divisive we've probably ever had, so to say that the first 2 episodes were disliked by people for just one reason or that 73 Yards is disliked largely because fans don't watch other things is a bit off-base. The best reviews I've seen around that latter episode are the ones criticising it while engaging with it non-literally. Also, DOES it have an open ending? The Doctor returns and blatantly says that it was all a supernatural story. It's not that Who fans aren't used to this type of story, it's that...I feel like Russell isn't.

Originally the doctor could only regenerate 12 times, giving a total of 13 persona's. This limitation gave a sense that the doctor had finite and actual stakes. With an infinite narrative almost makes the doctor a pointless mary sue type of character, thus loses depth and interest.
