You probably know but Inside No.9 is very popular in China (apparently it is bigger there then shows like A game of thrones) and there have been a successful stage adaptation in Shanghai with plans to bring stage versions to other Chinese cities. Pemberton and Shearsmith got to visit the Shanghai stage show and attend a big TV festival. It is interesting/heartening that this series is helping the BBC overseas

I discovered your channel through your initial Inside no 9 vlog. It's been an absolute joy to follow your reviews with each recent series. It's added to my enjoyment of this amazing series and you always bring such thoughtful analysis

I'm already sad that I can't say I'm looking forward to more new episodes, but I'm happy that your channel and a couple others introduced me to it. It's easily my favorite anthology show, and I really hope we'll see another Reece and Steve collaboration sometime in the future. Though, even if we don't, at least I can rewatch this! 😊

I definitely find The Trolley Problem to be my favourite, although the ending is quite depressing it's also quite cathartic

Loved your coverage of inside no.9 thanks for all the videos. I managed to get tickets to the stage show and I'm excited to see how they bring it to that format.

Man...honestly, thank you so much for getting me into this show. It was your earlier Inside No.9 videos that got me to subscribe to you in the first place and, had I not done that I probably wouldn't have discovered a ton of other awesome stuff too. 🙂

s9 was banger after banger Anyway Stu, I'm fairly sure that your videos encouraged me to try Inside No.9, so I owe you a thank you for introducing me to my favourite show ever You're right that Steve is one of the most adorable human beings. I think that's why they did Plodding On the way round they did. They've got a lot of mileage out of Reece being angry and belligerent, and Steve trying to keep everything on track, as per if you go back to how they play up their personas in their commentaries. So, because they're not satisfied to just coast on past success, they tried it the other way round for this. Another way to trip the fans up and remind us that whatever we see of them, doesn't mean we actually know these people as you pointed out. But yeah, great series.

I remember My Family did their own Underground delayed story, although a bit less grounded and more funny, its one of the only episodes other than christmas ones that properly stands out in my mind and it's a lot of fun

Just a note - Boo to a Goose is set on a Liverpool Merseyrail train! (Just being pedantic, your point still stands!)
@FortoFight

Yeah I noticed that, except the interior is not consistent at all with Merseyrail and they've tried as much as possible to blur out station names which indicates to me that they weren't trying to actually set it in Merseyside

Just been rewatching the whole of No9 from the beginning. I'm up to Mulberry Close again and like you didn't see the ending coming. Great review!

Such a great series. I’ve enjoyed your video reviews of the series very much. I just found myself at the end of the last episode thinking you clever writers. An excellent last series, I’m now going back along with another KZbin No9 fan, WeeLin, and rewatching from Sardines. Right from the start it’s clear this is something to be treasured. Thanks again. Have you seen The Good Place a fascinating twist on the sitcom genre that also deals with The Trolley Problem?

1:40 No, hang on, you can't just go straight to Mornington Crescent, I don't even think there's a ruleset that allows that! Since we're presumably playing via the Play-by-Web rules, dont you have to start on the Circle Line? God I hope somebody gets this.

Personally, as a music nerd, I can't help but read Curse of the Ninth as a second attempt at Last Night Of The Proms. Also... I really appreciate that the show ended with Tim Key doing his best Tim Key impression, along with Jan Reid overdoing the coke.

I really enjoyed this final series too. I especially liked the subversive final episode and I thought that was a great way to end the show. I also love the show Taskmaster and I enjoyed Steve Pemberton on the recent series of that as well.

Interesting. I definitely thought Boo to a Goose was the strong one of this bunch. I’m glad they’ve ended it here as this wasn’t the strongest season for me - still enjoyable all the same. I do really disagree about the coma episode though. I came away from it just feeling really gross. I think it was a bit in poor taste. I’m not really sure it’s very kind to do a story that depicts someone in a very late stage of a coma with no detected brain activity as actually being alive. I just think it’s probably the wrong message to be putting out there. I also just did not connect with the family and the annoying children - compared to say, Love’s Great Adventure which I think is an underrated classic.

I didn’t think the first episode was set in a totalitarian state, I thought it was the illuminati.

Yeah I've had debates on that, whatever way works. That was how I read it based on those posters around the carriage and that zoom in on the camera at the end gave me big brother vibes

Boo to a goose was not on the London Underground it was on Merseyrail specifically Moorfields station. Also I'd say standoff-ish attitude is a southerner thing
