This is the best explanation i've ever seen on drawing boxes, thank you so much i was so stuck with the challenge!!

this is incredible. very well explained. Ive watched many videos to understand perspective, but a lot of points that you explain here tend to fall between the cracks. answers all the questions i had & in such an engaging way too! thank you.

The laser technique is what will determine the armature of the box. Yet the centre axis of yxz of the centre of the box will be the only true centre from which one can control the true position and subsequent rotation of the box. Just find the central point and the axis connecting it to the planes from the inside out instead of outside in and adjust the perspective... Every knowledge pours out of that foundational understanding...

Nice Job! I have been a fan of Leyendecker for 40+ years. I have a massive ephemeral collection of his published work in addition to original paintings. Contact me if you have an interest in doing some commission work of some other Leyendecker works.

This is a brilliant way of explaining boxes. There are so many deep concepts in here, it is breathtaking. And the presentation is top notch. The three basic types of boxes and the fact that front facing boxes are one point, edge facing are two, and corner facing are three point will revolutionize how I conceive of representing space. Thank you so much for the effort you put into this video! The organization of the ideas and the loopy number of perfect examples makes huge ideas obvious. You are helping thousands of people past roadblocks that very few teachers know how to guide students around. Bravo!

this really is such a nice down-to earth video. The real life examples and charming narration really make it feel like more of a "art is for everyone" vibe instead of the very dedicated art school grindset vibe :D

Well, that was obvious - and yet I hadn't seen it! Just knowing that someone obviously so intelligent has found learning perspective hard is hugely helpful. I have been struggling to understand perspective for about five years now so I can illustrate some written work. I actually started with the misnamed Norling book shown here. I progressed onto many others. As soon as I thought I had grasped it, I sat down at the blank canvas and it dispersed like a dream on waking. I too took some boxes and photographed them but failed to see what was going on because they were static images. Your glass box videos have been an inspiration to me. I have only just discovered Drawabox and I am going to hope that this will finally give me an intuitive understanding of what I need to do. Thank you so much for making this video., you have a real genius for making the impossible seem simple.

Thanks for this Kate. I feel stupid for not breaking down drawing simple boxes into simple concepts. Just been ramming my pencil head into paper hoping for something to intuitively click. I'm hopeful that you channel has other useful content I can check out :D (Plus thank you for all the reading and reference materials. I've just turned 30 and I'm trying to be more artistic because my younger self always assumed I had no 'talent')
