this is so much more than just tips, this should be supplementary material for lesson 1. it goes into so much depth while remaining very accessible with how you've used real life and digital references alongside your explanations. making informative tutorials about the technical aspect of art is no easy feat yet you've done it here with such excellence and charm, thank you for posting this

Please, you gotta make more art tutorials like this. Especially about perspective. They’re so helpful! PLEASE IM BEGGING 😭

wow! You are the holy grail of over-view educators!!! I love how you used the word "You" instead of "I" to connect the viewwer with the concept in a working way. I love the real-life examples you provided, and the way you've organized your video.

I don't really comments, but I had to after watching this video, one of the best if not the best art video ever made! The way you discribed using real world example and the amount of effort you must have put into making this is mind-blowing. I hope to see more of such videos in future. Hats off to you!

Well, that was obvious - and yet I hadn't seen it! Just knowing that someone obviously so intelligent has found learning perspective hard is hugely helpful. I have been struggling to understand perspective for about five years now so I can illustrate some written work. I actually started with the misnamed Norling book shown here. I progressed onto many others. As soon as I thought I had grasped it, I sat down at the blank canvas and it dispersed like a dream on waking. I too took some boxes and photographed them but failed to see what was going on because they were static images. Your glass box videos have been an inspiration to me. I have only just discovered Drawabox and I am going to hope that this will finally give me an intuitive understanding of what I need to do. Thank you so much for making this video., you have a real genius for making the impossible seem simple.

this really is such a nice down-to earth video. The real life examples and charming narration really make it feel like more of a "art is for everyone" vibe instead of the very dedicated art school grindset vibe :D

beautiful and engaging presentation, you've made a complex and dull subject much more digestible, the real life examples and the see-through box especially helped

Not only have you eased the intimidation I've been feeling just reading and hearing of the dreaded boxes, you've also planted the 'eye' in me. I will definitely observe the real word, and think of boxes and cylinders and shapes now.

This is a brilliant way of explaining boxes. There are so many deep concepts in here, it is breathtaking. And the presentation is top notch. The three basic types of boxes and the fact that front facing boxes are one point, edge facing are two, and corner facing are three point will revolutionize how I conceive of representing space. Thank you so much for the effort you put into this video! The organization of the ideas and the loopy number of perfect examples makes huge ideas obvious. You are helping thousands of people past roadblocks that very few teachers know how to guide students around. Bravo!

Great instructional video, with a wealth of reference examples from the outside world. I particularly like the use of the clear cube, smiley sticker, and edge and face tapes/sheets. I had bought such a cube, but was finding it difficult to see the differences in edge lengths and angles to each other. Your use of the background reference 'cross hairs' makes it much easier to see these. A lot of thought and work went into making this video, and they've paid off - thank you.

The laser technique is what will determine the armature of the box. Yet the centre axis of yxz of the centre of the box will be the only true centre from which one can control the true position and subsequent rotation of the box. Just find the central point and the axis connecting it to the planes from the inside out instead of outside in and adjust the perspective... Every knowledge pours out of that foundational understanding...
