I’ve just sat through around 7 hours worth of both podcasts….i have to say this is some of the best content on YT. Simon you really are an inspiration. Time to get back training! Surely it’s time for another podcast?!

I've seen some criticism of the Turkish getup as a useless exercise recently. What do you use it for in your programming? My belief is that it puts a lot of strain on multiple muscle groups, but in short ranges. Because you're stabilizing a heavy weight and everytime it goes out of balance, the force on your muscles increases exponentially. Like, holding a 90 pound weight up at 90 degrees isn't that hard, but holding It at 80 degrees or 100 degrees would make it impossible. So you have to compensate with using your core and legs to get it balanced again. I think it takes a lot of strength. But I don't use Turkish getups so I could be wrong. Do you think Turkish getups could be an economical exercise for strength and balance for muliple muscles, even if it's not the optimal way to train them? What do *you* use Turkish getups for?

hey @raspberryape , i am using a hooked wrist (forearm & wrist 90 degree) but with opened hands instead of closed hand(grabbing the bar with the palms) Now, when i am using this grip, it seems to be easier for me to do pull ups..no idea what to name this type of grip. Em i pull up cheating by engaging my forearms more ?
@raspberryape

This is a hooking pull ups. Great for training isometric wrist flexion. And definitely not cheating!

@@raspberryape it is good to hear that, it seems to be good for me to grab it this way, since the bar is thick and is a bit slippery Grabbing it this way gives me a stronger grip/stability on the bar....i thought some of my body weight is resting on my forearms, which would've explained why it felt so much lighter to do them this way

And the best thing about the towel is that when you are finished training and get a shower you can use the towel to dry off ❤❤😂😂 Joking aside , I will be diffinitly be using a towel for arm wrestling training.

If you asked me who id rather have as my grappling coach John Danaher or Daren Morris im choosing Daren Morris! Daren has been not ignoring 50% of the body for 35 years! He's also been in the game when danaher still had hair!

Very helpful. I discovered the hard way that my grip was the culprit of my inner elbow pain when doing pull ups or bincep curls. Now am isolationg the grip and brachialis as they are my weak parts before trying pull ups. I am seeing some progress. I do bar dead hanging, farmer walking, reverse biceps curls. Definitely going to add thise drills. Subscribed.
