I agree with Sam I was thinking the same thing about what is it that’s different to last year and it’s the fact the team is constantly being shifted around so it prevents lack of momentum and constant re-adjusting for new players coming in to understand their game play and also the already listed players to also get use to the new players unique individual play. Hence will also naturally lack a knowing of what their team memebers are going to do, causing hesitancy, which will also then be highlighted in the attack which we’ve seen attack be off this year. (Just my non expert thoughts lol)

This year has been frustrating. We've come so close so many times and let the game slip. The warriors had a solid team but couldn't execute all the way.
@johnnycoolnessКүн бұрын
Many injuries and the team changing every week didn't help.
@hwm2024Күн бұрын
Yes we have had injuries but equally being able to execute has been very poor the whole year. Also, Defensively we are a quarter of the team we were in 2023. Combine those two and this has reflected in the results.
@ajmuss856Күн бұрын
Sorry guys but you are looking for excuses and 😥😭 Playing injured is part pro sport . RTS must play fullback next year for a start
@jackohere1878Күн бұрын
To be fair a high injury toll does hurt any side.We lost our best half combo early in the season and never really recovered. However you are right there are some very concerning signs of things not being "right".The team looks disconnected to me meaning something is deeper than just a high injury toll.Just what the issues are is a mystery to us outside the "inner circle" but a very deep hard season review needs to be taken and if some very unpopular harsh decisions have to be made the club must make them and not dodge issues or pander to popular staff / players. Things like - is recruiting 30 yr old players no matter who they are on 3 yr deals obviously in their twilight playing years really wise.Is our roster getting too old to compete in the faster modern "6 again" style game. - are staff like Stacy Jones / Adam Blair etc in cruise mode feeling far too comfortable in their roles.Ciraldo recently heaped huge praise on his new assistant Taylor who spent hours upon hours for weeks after the days work studying tapes and thinking/planning how to fix their attack which was mundane but is now quite potent.Would any of our coaches other than Webster do the same? So are changes needed or some people need to be put on notice? - are the players happy and excited about the future eg for me when RTS is playing he doesn't look a happy chappy.Sit him down for a heart to heart and if he isn't happy and excited about next year offer him an out then he can go to the big money of Japanese Union.Maybe a couple or more other players need the same talk. - should the club approach someone like Wayne Smith or even ex league coach Brian Smith as a mentor and helper in things like team dynamics etc for Webster much like John Hart helped Cleary as a rookie coach.If so get it done The list could go on and likely not be correct but obviously something is seriously a miss .A club doesn't slip from top 4 to bottom 4 for no reason.Either fix what needs fixing or we just go down the road of the being at best a mid table side like we have been for most of the last 29 years.

👍🏼👏🏼.. & yep to add a point, Webby stated there's no senior leadership group amongst the players, rather they want every individual to have a voice. It's a noble idea but sadly it doesn't work esp amongst Polynesian culture. There must be a hierarchy & hearing RTS state he takes a back seat now wasn't a surprise to me as on field leadership/ well the lack off has been a major flaw imo & has cost us. Water boys/ asst coaches can relay a tactical msg sure but they shouldn't be the ones blowing up the tyres, that's gotta come from the players. Communication 101 Auck, NZ is a different world from Sydney & NE England. In the sth side never speak out of turn nor look an elder in the eye, it's considered disrespectful. The head has gotta be able to read the room & find the best way to get into & gauge every single individual. It's what sets the likes of Bellamy, Bennett & Trent Robinson apart. Lowey too, best coach/ man manager ever imo, at least from our shores. New how every single individual ticked & ever single player knew it was his way or the highway. It's gotta be that way.. one top dog only. Challenge that ethos then it's pack your bags time.

I think we would have the most disallowed tries due to obstructions this year- I think teams have figured in the off seson is the easy way to shut down our plays is just to run into one of our lead runners

Man just remember the Boks won with 15 players on the WRC final man. ABs down a man whole game so gotta keep that in perspective. Look at what happen in the State of Origin when there is a full time on the field. Boks didn't beat the ABs by that much in the WRC final given they had a extra player the whole game!!! Let's see what happens on first test match with no RED cards Ref!!!!!

Also a journo asked Ciraldo what's changed from last year, was it a new system or something. He said the system is exactly the same but attitude is different. I'm guessing he's referring to players buying into it and putting the work in to make it work. (and also getting rid of players not willing to put in the work).

Same team on paper as last year but really we've had a very different team this year - no Tohu for the majority of it, centres as Gello mentioned which affected the wings, halves inconsistent, Jackson Ford moved to the bench and now injured.. as Domo says it affects chemistry and cohesion..

CHEMISTRY. in a word that's the vital ingredient we've lacked this season lads.. imho. Our 1st game v Manly this season was when I first noticed it was off, 1st 1/2 especially & sorry but gotta respectfully disagree Sammy re offense not being an issue, we haven't been able to execute & convert pressure into pts on way too many occasions. Re our D issues from my eyes they've emanated from the middle but yep plus that lack of faith in the guy next to ya but here's a wee bit of homework for y'all.. go back & re watch that Manly 1st half & you'll see yourselves with one glaring incident in particular sticking out. Not holding my breathe but defo 100% believe we're good enough. Q is are we hungry enough? Our Manly old boys may be the difference this time, the cpl in our team that is in front of a full house with alot of expat kiwi connections in amongst it. Will keep an eye out for Darrell Williams & man hope Lowey has made it over & we witness a high scoring bonanza & at end of we all go home happy.. & smiling. 🙏

SJ was talking about playing in Vegas next year, he is only 34 which is still a relatively ok age to be playing half back compared to a prop where there is more wear and tear on the body. My guess is the Warriors low balled him with a crap offer for 2025 and it's evident that offer was a signal to retire.
