Awesome application of this concept in grappling. I’ve used something similar when I boxed it was moreso to drill footplacement/stance and timing.

I have liked, here is my comment and I am now subscribed. I enjoy your pedagogy, especially your precise word usage and highlighting of nuances in positioning and muscle engagement. I came from Zen Bolo video From Jon Thomas' channel and was captured by your use of language and precision.

You gotta change the camera angle as you progress through the movements. I couldn’t see any of the leg pummels or position changes.

Hey Margot is super legit. But K-guard is Not Named after the Letter "K" 🤣 it is Named by its inventore forename "Karo"
@MargotCiccarelliBJJ
@MargotCiccarelliBJJ Жыл бұрын
Isn't Neil Melanson the original guy who did K guard? I'm pretty sure it's been done in other grappling arts too to be honest. The leg configuration still looks like a K anyway haha. De La Riva for example was already a position utilised in Kosen Judo many years before it was popularised in JJ

@@MargotCiccarelliBJJ OSS 🔥 Thank you so much for this reply. And yes neil is "Kind of" the inventor of this Position. And he always say if asked why it js called "K" that he watched one of His friends do it and he is called by Karo in first Name. OSS, Professor Margot 🔥

Thank you for the technique. When I try this, the defender turns to face me and places the hips on the mat, leaving me in sort of a belly-down position. Do you have any additional tips for when the opponent starts to sit and turn toward you?

Can you take this in steps ? The steps given were too far into the weeds, if you frame all moments including the control before the back take would be deeply appreciated. Thank you

HI Margo, thanks for the vid. Just wondering, so you mention the space between beats--as one gets comfortable with a tempo on the grid, does it then make sense to change the rhythm at that tempo, so, adding "half notes" and moving twice in a given beat? I'm not sure I'm explaining myself well but I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks
