Advice: I see you are pulling back on your punches too soon. You want to finish and snap into the bag when you strike it, especially for hard punches. It should cause the bag to bounce vertically. You are losing a lot of power with your current technique. Think about ending your punch 1 to 2 inches into the face of the bag. Do NOT push the bag, because you'll hurt your shoulders and fatigue quickly. If the bag swings into you, you need to shorten your punch to not get jammed up, focusing on ending the punch at the correct distance.

I'm seeing rhytm steps when you're exiting range, probably because of the lack of space in the area you're training but it will become a bad habit that will get punished by someone who spars often. try dropstepping and imagine throwing a straight hand as a counter immidiately after exiting range so you know you are ready if they come chasing.
@BigNick50414 күн бұрын
and don’t take this as me making excuses. I take all advice and listen to all opinions. Just letting you know where my head was at.
@AxaFin14 күн бұрын
somebody has been watching too much mike tyson haha. I only know Kickboxing/MMA Striking so I don't know much about the training methods with boxing but double slipping without forward movement and punches seems like a very inefficient way to do it. Only thing I can really comment on here is the footwork, it's the biggest hurdle when being an absolute unit like this but I think just doing a basic 1-1-2 combo with the first jab used to just to step in range will help you close the distance on the taller people and the footwork required to close the distance fast will eventually carry out to the rest of your footwork. It would probably make the punches a lot more faster too when you use the entire kinetic chain. Inside boxing is clearly your strength now you just have to work on actually getting into those situations and possible exiting in an angle if you plan on sparring taller opponents.
@BigNick50414 күн бұрын
Fair enough. I’m still only about a year in on this and only about six months in a gym so slipping is new to me. I normally get frustrated and go to my “safe zone” and use the high guard to walk people down, but it’s painful. I will def work on closing my distance though. It’s not my strong suit.

2:56 Left hook looks good, slight dropping of the right (defence) could be improved. If you can make this snappier (rotate from torso more) you will generate shocking power from this. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you man. Check out the one I just posted, tried focusing less on power more on throwing the 1,2 down the pipe like you said.
@ZoneTwelveOnline13 күн бұрын
@@BigNick504 Yeah nice, I noticed you look snappier. You have strength and good technique. If you focus on just perfect technique, no power and all speed you will use 50% less energy and have even more explosive power. Here is an awesome fight and a good example of economy of movement. Kostya Tszyu was deceptively good at throwing a power right with zero telegraphing. It was dead straight, he was a sniper with great efficiency. No wasted movements, no telegraphing of shots, instead he would set traps, create small openings with the left and have a way of timing that right hand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5mzeomCapmBrpY Notice the sneaky right hand, it would come out of nowhere. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5mzeomCapmBrpYsi=S5_W4B5Azwql6JZO&t=802

Technique is quite good. Starting with the jab, extend it further and throw it like a flick all the way out. You dont need to use strength but good technique with speed. Same with the right. Make it straight, perfectly dead straight. Think shortest distance from point A to B. Rotate more, forget power and flick it quick like a rubber band. Anyone can throw a swing, not many can throw a straight shot and even less can throw a perfectly dead straight shot with correct technique. Try working on just those 2 for a while. I can see you have good defence, not dropping your hands when you throw a shot. Good luck

@JKDTYSONbasic16 күн бұрын
@@BigNick504 you should start training your whole body in one training. Cut down the exercises and sets. But make sure you hit every angle . For example chest: 1 set push up, 1 set incline, 1set decline then go on to the other muscles. Do this once a weak . Next to that do 1 day only one set per muscle just to trigger it. Believe me you train them with boxing enough especially the fast twitch muscles. And with your build you want speed. I think it will make feel lighter. Don’t you feel slow and empty in your body. And stiffness? Let me know if this helped

Pretty good , @2:50 see how your throwing your right body shot …it’s coming from outside of the right leg, you want to shift your body position to the other side of the bag and get behind the right leg and dig into the bag like the left hand you do your predominantly doing better with the left learn to shift your weight where your right foot is more alighted with the left foot when throwing power body shots with the right hand your to far away from the bag your taking power and delivery off . Drive with the shoulders and lats get behind the punch your throwing it like a baseball slider from the outside which will stop you from getting fully behind that punch ,best way to train fir that is just stand directly in front of the bag and slowly teach your body to step to the right side and have the right foot slightly in front of the left and just throw hooks predominantly on that right side standing square to the bag if you can get this down you’ll have better balance and confidence hitting from right to left sides and shifting position,this is particularly important fir any peekaboo style .
