I am from South Africa and visited Shanghai in April 24. It was a wonderful experience and one thing from this video that I can confirm is the feeling of being safe. People where really friendly although I do not speak any Chinese. I would go again should the opportunity arrives.

So those people selling all the stuff in the streets are poor, correct? Otherwise they wouldn´t be selling second-hand stuff in the street at that time.

You know what strikes me from this part of the world, urban world, REALITY, feeling being surrounded by ORGANIC and hive mind like reality. A mega, alive consciousness. This is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I feel when they watch similar videos taken from Russian or American or European urban areas. In Russia I feel anti-human lonleness. In US I feel a fallen empire with neglect but no healthy organic life. In Europe I feel a fake aestethic like it is a movie set not somewhere you live and fear and love and struggle and loss and win and die. But in these CROWDY and CRAWLING city camps, camps in the sense of there is camp dweller like tribal community but it is in a modern city, in these places I feel HOME I feel ALIVE I feel I belong to HUMANITY. I am aware many people see the trashy little streets. Yet this looks verywell like how the dirt under a tree looks actually, how our inner organs look with the clean and dirty blood being pumped from and into our hearts. Chaos, little organisms crawling around, the job of surviving the day for the mega organism being dealt with as usual. Alas greetings from Canakkale Turkiye. Lots of respect and love to you and to all the Chinese people as the Asian blood in my veins and in my culture makes it a familiar experience to watch anything from China. Goodluck and a painless, happy life I hope for you.

Chinese income disparity is even bigger than the US. I'm from Shanghai, the wealthiest city in China. My wife is the daughter of a farm from Guanxi. Both of us were top students and were accepted to US universities. We met during graduate school and got married right after. When I went back to China to get married, I was so shocked at just how poor rural china is. Her parents worked their entire lives as farmers and received less than $25/month as pension. I was so shocked! Had my fiancée not been sending money they would have starved. Needless to say, we brought to live with us in the US.

Reason u feel safe all the time in china is cos the punishment for crime is severe.u hardly find people even approaching you for anything untill theyre trying to sell u or if ur inside a nightclub for drinks.

This is the kind of video i love. Not the flashy "propaganda like" video's of people going to the same flashy tourist places in china, but the real china, which is much more interesting in my opinion. No place is perfect, but every place has its own beauty. I always really enjoy going out at night to see the city, as ive done with cities in China, Korea and Japan.

Ts 2:26 i was alive in the early 1960s. It is the Chinese government policies that starved and killed millions of Chinese people. Chinese people could have made enough food. What history have you learned? i am 61. i grew up in Montreal and i have lived 37 years on the West Coast of the USA.i think a lot of Americans do not make enough to save. Rents are 70% of the take home pay now and a car is a must to get to the job. most working Americans do not have dependable healthcare.
@alexwyler4570
@alexwyler4570 26 күн бұрын
FYI An American study just found that the "expensive" age for healthcare was 45-59 . After 65, people go to the doctor a lot less. They walk more, eat better and go to the doctor less. Chinese people - if they do not smoke-should age well. They walk a lot and eat lots of vegetables. future video?

TS 8:51 They say the same thing about pensions and social securityin America. So How bad are the work conditions in China that a Chinese woman would think the maternity leave and maternity support would be better in America? wow. Sweden Europe? yes. America? no.

TS 2:48 Is ti possible in 'China to forgo the betrothal gift ? It is a dated. Chinese women have been always working and their financial worth has now been recognized. The man's family should pay the Chinese Woman 2024! for all the extra work women have to do! Also, can you do a potluck wedding in China? or a $100 civil ceremony at the court house instead of a capitalist wedding? in North America, young people prefer getting the downpayment for a house rather than a wedding. or they invite everybody in a potluck ceremony in a cute background to save on money.

My daughters are 29 - graphic designer and 25- MD student. The graphic designer and her boyfriend want kids but they can barely afford rent and necessary car. The MD student will be too old by the time she can afford kids too. So in the USA, women are not having kids because they are in financial survival mode.

TS 3:16 Canada has been a multicultural country only in the last 30 years. Until 1990, it was English, French /Native American and "German/slavic" (that neighbourhood light hair, blue/grey eyes, lots of war so the countries' boundaries kept changing- The Canadian prairies. You have a glass of wine outside watching the Aurore Boerale, your glass of wine will freeze 3 minutes LOL) . The native Americans/French Canadians until the 1960s are the one that developed Canada. ( and the USA): forest,, mining, fishing, industries with English money and directives. They build all the. roads and buildings in Canada. The English brought capitalism. There were no black in Canada. too cold. You had to survive before supermarkets, cars and heat . Again, Canada has been multicultural only since your birth. And at that, only Rich immigrants were invited. Love your videos,! so fun to see the young eyes of today's perspective. . Future video? what kind of Chinese should i learn to visit China? What places should i visit in China?

Because you are so young, you only experience Hong Kong as a part of China, not as its own independent country ( yes the Queen RIP was head of state, but really as long as Hong Kong was civil and polite, it could self determined. Vancouver before 1995 was mostly white. Chinatown was 5 big blocks. The Vanoouver of today is not the Vancouver of 1989 i lived in when i was your age. Your video made me feel Old!!!!KZbin thought i would enjoy your Chinese city at 4 am and i loved it. Love the vibe of your videos. my edit: i want to learn: mandarin? which language is best to. visit China in a future video? and i want to visit China.

I was drinking orange juice and after I read this comment I almost spit the juice on my keyboard. This is so cringe on so many levels: - You are publicly stereotyping people - Sounds like a fetish (submissive) - Objectification Plus, as someone who lived in china, you are wrong that they are loyal and loving, be warned...many of them either just want your money or your citizenship.

I just found your channel and I wondered you speak good English. You see Canada is good, but you never see America yet. My daughter who is born in America and now she is a teenager. I took her to visit Canada this year, she told me no place is better than America. I can tell that too. Surveillance cameras in China got help by American businessman who knows how to do those cameras. He helped to set it up for China. China is safe because it is communist regime, plus China, Japan, or South Korea don't have diverse population as America does. America has World population in the country so it is hard to manage. If police goes too far, they will get sue, but not in China. You can't sue the police. Can't compare democratic with communist systems. America is capitalist country and work hard than communist. You can say China works 9-9-6, but how productive its workers produce. America works 8 hours a day and 5 days a week with 2 weeks vacation and 1 week sick leave in most companies, plus 6 to 10 days holiday depending on company policy.
