Great Video I've got a Rhino on order and can't wait to get it and this video really showed the ability of an FFB base. Mostly 99% fly DCS world so no issues with telemetry and the new F-4 Phantom module From HeatBlur "seemingly" really shines with an FFB Base. The problem with Rhino is that it has little power, 9nm is very little. There is not enough strength to hold the long metal handle, not enough strength to properly simulate flight.
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs 4 күн бұрын
@MrMaxShwed It's actually got a fair amount of power, actually had the stick get ripped out of my hand in this video, twice haha on touch down in the bush plane. Granted, it's not 100% realistic for high G or extreme forces. However, nor is my 5k motion actuators, but the immersion it brings is pretty amazing. Forces felt flying bush planes are pretty accurate. I guess the power of the Rhino is only an issue if your desire is to have 100% realistic forces, as opposed to adding immersion by feeling good force feedback and vibrations instead of 100% real. It was a concern of mine before purchasing the Rhino. I did a lot of research and decided to jump in on buying the Rhino. I was not disappointed and having a heck of a lot of fun. Firing the gun in the F15 pulls the stick to one side, turbulence forcing the stick around in hand, needing to trim or the stick becomes uncomfortable to hold level, vibration in RPM change, touchdown effects... it's epic. I need someone to send me something more powerfull to try out hahaha.
@Fr4Ged
@Fr4Ged 4 күн бұрын
I don't fly warbirds but for everything else the Rhino definitely is powerful enough to give me the immersion. I am also not sure if the regular flight sim hardware would like to handle more power than this as most of it is made out of plastic or thin metal.

HI 😇🇫🇷👍🏻 Thank you so much for this excellent vidéo . I receveid my #Rhino next week . A little question : At #15mn 58s -I find that the position of your joystick is too low compared to a real modern or WW2 plane. The base of the joystick should be in my humble opinion at the height of your thighs so that your hand falls on your joystick. Your arm in profile should be parallel to the height of your thighs. And so your hand, your arm does not dip between your thighs, because this gives too short a travel. We see the correct height by seeing the hand position of a Bae Thyphoon pilot or an A10C II. Thank you for your excellent video. My #Rhino is arriving next week, your test made my mouth water as they say in a French proverb. Cordially /Laurent 🇫🇷😇😇

Is Buttkicker(under seat) necessary for flight sims? I have p1000 haptic motors and only these seem enough with Rs mega for sim racing.
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs 18 күн бұрын
Great question. Honestly, since the new Simhub motion support dropped, the need for Buttkickers for sim racing is not as critical. They will still add an extra layer of realism, but just not as much as before. Simhub with the RSmega is an amazing combination. The ability for the software to make the motion actuators vibrate, feel road rumble, and engine RPM is truly. game-changing. Unfortunately, there's no flight sim support to drive the motion platform with Simhub, yet. The Buttkickers fill in what's missing, missile launches, gun firing, wind buffeting, engine RPM and so on. I have 1 buttkicker mounted under my seat and foot peddles. Hope this helps answer your question 😊

Also I can imagine after a few flights in your set up (or even a single flight) someone would be hooked! You've got a really awesome set up too m8, you obviously have a big passion for flight sims & sim gaming in general & it shows with the dedication that you must of had to get such a set up done. Not just financially but also time wise to get the whole thing set up & working & then again on top to learn all the aircraft etc. & create videos. I will have to keep an eye on your progress with the sim pit, the Rhino & the channel in general. This sort of video is really great not just for entertainment content but also it helps us with the Rhino learn more about what effects & settings will help with realism vs immersion. Also ppl with other FFB bases plus the upcoming Moza & Winwing bases will be able to get something out of it too. Those are something I'm really excited about, it's about time FFB came back to the mainstream market! My Rhino will always be kept not just for the low serial No. but cause it's just special to be & also the hard work & support that VPforce has put into the product & it's software. The community support with the Rhino is also massive! in fact we all know that certain members of the community have put in dozens & dozens of hours into making the software better & likely just as much time again helping the community with support. Thanks so much mate :) I have no words... Well, actually, I have lots to say. Man, I am going to keep it short and to the point as I have so much to say. I think I will be able to get most of what I want to say across in my upcoming video better. I am going to film all sorts of angles to demonstrate what's actually going on. IT IS MIND-BLOWING. Ok, so I am flying in the Kitfox FS2020, sitting in the parking with a cold aircraft and dead stick is such a cool feeling. Fire her up, start to taxi, and the stick starts to come to life, engine vibration, flaps actuating, it's amazing. On takeoff is when the real magic happens, the stick is alive... I actually need to remaster my takeoffs and landings now; the stick has created such a sense of feedback, I am actually connected to the aircraft. turbulance is already pretty amzing in ther motion sim and now this stick, its the icing on the cake. I am also feeling the exact same forces in the stick as the motion rig....its just crazy. And here is when it really gets insane. I put the Kitfox into a stall, nose high, throttle off and hold it for as long as I can... and boom... I am now not only in a full-motion simulator but I have a completely limp, dead stick, and I am spiraling back to earth with the sim rig violently thrashing me around, totally unable to recover with the stick like I would before. Of course, the stick used to be spring-loaded and self-centering. Let's face it, almost all standard flight gimbals are. That alone will most often sort out the stall. In real life, you lose all control on the stick in the stall. That is exactly what happens with the Rhino... simply amazing. I was so shocked at the time I forgot the old trick of full rudder. Man, I was actually feeling sick in VR for a moment there hahahaha. I am going to capture this on film and put it in my upcoming video. Was simply... amazing.

2:32 So the Rhino will work 'out of the box' with Virpil & Thrustmaster grips, VPforce has adapters for VKB (passthrough to VKB Blackbox) & Winwing. The emergency stop also works for simply turning the power off to the base. The gear covers are a nice finish but not really needed for safety as the gears don't rotate far. I seriously think this is one of the best upgrades you can get for flight sims especially if you fly helicopters having actual force trim is a total game changer. I have S/N#25 & it's been going strong with some pretty heavy use too, this isn't like the over priced under performing Brunner, this is 9nm & has enough torque to snatch the grip out of you hand in a crash ask me how I know, the Rhino has the fans for active cooling so unlike the Brunner it won't cut out effects after 30 seconds of use, if it ever did manage to get "too hot" the Rhino will simply throttle back on it's power level until cooled, but as I said it has the fans & in all the time I've used mine including dogfights in IL2 & DCS I'm not sure I've even had the fans need to kick in. The software is where the Rhino really shines, the config app lets you save different profiles that can make the base feel completely different & the telemFFB app that works with DCS, IL2, MSFS & others will read the sims telemetry & produce effects based on what the aircraft is doing in sim. Definitely come back to watch LVR&S review on the Rhino!

The dust covers are most certainly not needed, I just cant help myself, any excuse to print something as a mod and I am all over it hahaha and, the emergency stop button is perfect as the on off switch, I could not agree more. @@PiNKMuDSimGaming Not sure if I will, the issue I have is my rig is setup for multiple styles, racing and flight. I currently have two throttle peddles acting as rudder. This setup actually works really well plus, I do not really use the clutch so I am not missing out on that aspect. Hmmmmm. wonder If I could make the motors work on my throttle peddles hahaha.

@@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs Do you think Rs Mega is also good for flight sim?
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs
@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs Ай бұрын
@taiyo5181 yes mate 100%, the main benefit is the longer travel, the RSMega has 150mm so you really feel pitch, roll and heave. In the coming weeks you should get a good idea from my next video on the Rhino in flight 😊

This is an amazing comment. Thank you 😊. I have plans to build a dedicated room out the back of my house if the channel takes off, will be dedicated to expanding the simrig and taking things to the next level.
