Smittybilt winches / Great BUT / IF they break there are NO Parts. I was told today that the solenoid i need, is in on a 60-90 day back order and not taking any more orders for the part. WHAT! Yea 30' of cable on the ground and NO parts. Fortunatly after tearing the front off my Truck to get to the winch solenoids, Yes you can override the solenoinds on the back side of the solenoid, by pushing in the rod. Been nice if Smittybilt shared this info with me. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obouisly there going out of business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking for a new winch................ Can you imagine pulling out cable to save your ass in the MUD middle of nowhere and the winch wont real in.

Spreading bs! The rougher ride comes from the changed angles. You aren't compressing anything with the spacer on top. Measure your coilover with the spacer on and off and you'll see. I quite enjoy my torsion bars lol 😂
@chevsuz12
@chevsuz12 Жыл бұрын
you may be correct, but I can tell you with certainty that those longer struts made that truck drive much better than using the spacer/shock combo. Perhaps it was just a better shock. Either way, I have moved on from the F150 and now have a Jeep. Take care.

How much travel is this lift designed for? Thanks for the review.
@chevsuz12
@chevsuz12 Жыл бұрын
not sure on how much it is designed for, but it allows for some really good flexing with the front sway bar disconnected. The rear remains connected but the lift adds longer sway bar links. as a result it too has really good flex.
@Delfi1900
@Delfi1900 Жыл бұрын
When you replace the stock struts with pre-loaded ones it will make your ride stiffer especially if you use your stock coils because your coils will now be compressed at all times giving you a stiffer ride, when you keep the original struts and add an extension (spacer) on top it will keep your original stock ride quality,,,

There is definitely wrong info here. The spacer on this lift does NOT affect preload like a leveling kit would. No different than the extended struts he is running. This because these kits come with all of the brackets necessary to keep everything to factory like spec

The spacers do not compress the spring. The spacer is bolted to the top of the struts then bolted to the bucket. The ride is affected by altered angles, not spring compression. You do not need a spring compressor to replace struts. Un bolt, the uca and sway bar ends pry down on lower control arm.

No, you do not. The 4" lift will come with a 2" spacer as it will level the truck. Personally, I do not like a levelled truck. So to maintain the rake, I went with the 6".

@gmoney7000

10-06-2021 To keep that pin from rusting just squirt some gear oil in there. It won't interfere with the electrical connection but it will keep it from rusting. Or cut a piece off a cotton t-shirt and put it in there to soak up condensation .
@schwazman1

Cotton is the last thing you want in there. It attracts moisture. Dielectric grease should be the only thing in there besides the remote end.
