Do you use the same seed starting mix when potting up? Or do you transition to regular soil or compost? Will that give more nutrition to the plant than just staying in seed starting mix?

I think what you made is better than the store bought stuff. It has grit and earth in it. Store bought stuff has the cheapest of the cheap , in some cases trash, almost free stuff. Ive been a subscriber for years and still come back to your videos.

At what point do you separate the seedlings growing in same cubicles? I've been trying to find out when's the right time to do it without damaging the seedlings.

Let's start 46 seconds in, with the impossibility of grass genes in tomato. It's true that almost all the genes in a tomato plant come from parent tomato plants. Note the word almost. In one generation, the word almost means that there is some very small probability that a gene got into the next generation tomato from a non-tomato. But the small probability is not zero. Let's take a hundred generations. In one of those generations, some tomato may have been infected with a virus that carried a gene from another species. Who knows which, maybe a whale, maybe a carrot, maybe a mushroom. If you consider a hundred thousand generations, this sort of thing may have happened a few hundred times. Over a hundred million generations, the tomato family has probably accumulated a very large number of such non-tomato genes. Now many of them will simply disappear over all those generations. But a few, especially if they give the plant a useful trait, will persist. Over enough time, a fair fraction of the genes in the tomato genome will be there from such virus infections. But it's sometimes much quicker than that. There is a kind of bacteria, Agrobacter tumafaciens, that infects woody plants and produces a gall, which is beneficial to the bacteria. The bacteria does this by being a genetic engineer, transferring some of its DNA into the genome of its victim. The well known useful vegetable, the sweet potato, got two genes, active genes, from Agrobacter tumafaciens, about 8000 years ago. Almost anything you say that is a "rule" of biology, will have exceptions. For example, we all think that the female parent of an animal gives most of the care to the infant, but in seahorses, it's the opposite. We all think that the female fish will require a male fish to mate with, and that both sexes will contribute genes to the baby. But the Amazon molly (Poecilia formosa), a tropical fish with only females, needs to mate with a male of another closely related species, but destroys the genes in the sperm. There is a kind of cypress tree (Cupressus dupreziana) that does just the opposite. The pollen from the male cypress fertilizes the ovum from the female cypress, but the cypress seed has only the genes from the pollen. (In medieval times, it was supposed that humans reproduced in this way, with all heredity carried by the sperm while the mother provided only nutrition and living space for the growing child.)

You can also cut off the root end of the radish before you eat it and replant that root down to grow another one.

where do you store your bags? In a sunny area? Cool, dark? Refrigerator? If you mentioned this, I missed it. I'm in zone 8 and am going to try several methods. I have planted them early indoors and just waited for them to sprout. This method works too. But I'm going to test your method to see if it speeds up the process.
