They´re story really hits home. Apart from doing blood magic and starting to throat sing, allthough i love mongolian throat singing... we lived similar lives. Raised as a roman catholic in a competetive and rather hostile environment where i had to learn to defend myself at a young age... learned and took what was usefull as i started to outgrow christianity and got into other religions and even the occult and esoteric stuff. Allthough i never became a devout practicioner of any religion again... probably never will. But i still enjoy christmas when all the trees are out and decorated wich is a pagan habit took on by christians. Allthough i would love if this celebration was´nt only christian centered but included the thru origins of this celebration. And why would people in greece not want to decorate they´re trees with a zeus lightning bolt on top and a hades crib below? celebrate your heritages... but let us never forget the most basest truth of our existence... and that is that we are all the result of the methaphysical will for life at all cost. Even at the behest of our own sanity... even if suffering is an unfortunate side effect to life we´de still want to see, hear, feel, touch, and kiss the ones we love. That is why we come back here. That is our most unifying factor. Much love to all here present, and to our ancestors who paved the way so i could be here today and enjoy Heilung on my devices. Take care

I went a few days ago in their presentation in Perth, I'm from Chile I used to listening Heilung when I was living in the mountain, this music really connecting me with the nature and my home. When I came to Australia I never expected to see their performance in here, so I'm very glad about that

question, Being connected to the earth, nature the world of spirit and each other, does this mean you are all VEGAN or hypocrites? Going by your love of fur and the gruesome sadistic way it is procured I take it's the latter.
@CuriousTunes17 күн бұрын
So you see a world where you have already decided that if you are not vegan then you are a hypocrite? So by your argument a shaman from Siberia is not spiritual, like you? Some creatures are born or are forced to eat meat, including humans, some are not. I do not think it is within your grasp to decide what the right path is for nature. To be frank I find your statement shallow and narrowed minded and simply an expression of “wisdom” you have inherited from someone else without further reflection. The use of the fur is a way of honoring the spirit of the animal and connect with it and has been so for thousands of years. But you have seen the light, the chosen one? I think you are blinded in the need for feeling special. You are not, you are simply a cell in the body of the universe. Be humble.

Does anybody know how they obtained their animal materials? As much as I absolutely love this band, I cannot help but to be ethically concerned about the animal materials they use, especially about the fox, bear and wolf pelts I've seen on their LIFA video performance, and about the small critter which I presume is a fox whose legs and tail hang from Kai's hat. Have any animals been killed for the purpose of costumes? It would help me so much if somebody knows this.

Having grown up strictly Evangalical (in a part of the world where it wasn't even popular), Greek mythology also was my gateway drug. I think it's so popular for curious Christian children as a lot of christian thought expands upon pre-christian Greek and Roman philosophy (mostly stoicism and Platonisism), so somehow there is some cultural acceptance for engaging with texts of that mythology. That same leniecy didn't expand to Germanic paganism however.
@CuriousTunesАй бұрын
I think it’s due to the spirituality of Ancient Rome and Greece being so intertwined, and well, later Christianity was merged with those roots. It’s has a sacred role to its perceived status as the source of western civilization. There is more to it for sure, but yeah, it enjoys a privileged spot in the collective unconsciousness in the psyche of western civilization
@SuperMcScottyАй бұрын
@@CuriousTunes Yes, you’re absolutely right! It’s still odd that Greek and Roman mythology enjoy that privilege though. Germanic paganism left such a big impact on our folk psyche and even intermixed in the catholic tradition. Traditions such as major and minor religious festivals and the roots of the various saints. Around where I live, in the rural villages of the Limburg province of the Netherlands, the pre-Christian cultural influences are still very tangible (even though most people wouldn’t recognize them as such). Those are as much bedrock to Western thought as Greco-Roman thought.
@CuriousTunesАй бұрын
@@SuperMcScotty I would assume the Germanic apprach towards spirituality did not align with the aim of control at all. Point being, if your intent is to control and maintain an empire, having "savages" run around and do what they feel is right, could be seen as a very real threat. The spirit of greek paganism might have aligned more with values of control. I mean, it is likely not by chance, that so many huge empires sprang up in that area. Super complicated, but also interesting topic though.

Very interesting. I too rebelled against a Christian upbringing. I fell into Heavy, Black & Death Metal for a long time. I looked into satanism & paganism & other religions. Ultimately none satisfied me. I was introduced to Taoism later in life which brought me to love all & opened my mind. Now I delve towards deeper roots which has lead me here. New fan of Heilung & I look forward to more of their rituals. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
