Despite the significant theorethical superiority of S-VHS (400 vs 290 lines) I actually found SuperBeta and S-VHS to be very similar in quality; if I had to choose one I would probably even say SuperBeta had the slight advantage. It might be just down to the different gear used for recording/playback/transfer though.

I'm curious about the origin of this "station"... Are you sure the radio station was on 87.5 MHz via FM/UKW (not cable)? It's an unlikely frequency and - some very special cases aside - not used for radio in Germany. AFAIK however, it is possible to get a license for very low energy radio transmitting on 87.45 MHz in Germany (sometimes also called "Grundstücksfunk"). I don't know if it was ever used by someone in Munich, though. Depending on what license you got, you could probably have a low radius of 0.5 to 1.0km in cities. It is said that some amateurish radio stations got this license, but then switched to 87.5 (which is not legal in Germany, as far as I know) to be more accessible by radios. Some of them allegedly tried this approach around that time of your recording (and have been shut down by the federal agency). I think that "Club FM 87.5" from Bamberg was "established" that way, but not sure. Possibly you catched such a short lived radio station? Another alternative would be a private transmitter with lower energx, like in a car, that was parked VERY close to the radio. Only reasonable to believe if a street was close-by, though. Can you give any more context? Was there more audible on that frequency or only that song?

Diesen Grundig Lehrfilm auf VHS habe ich auch, doch waren mir wichtiger Lehrfilme vom Video 2000 und dann auch VHS. Viele Videos habe ich auch von Saba VHS und die TV Chassis und dann auch einige Philips. Ich versuche die jetzt alle zu Digitalisieren.

Hab immer noch meinen VS380. War unser erster VCR, davon konnte ich mich dann auch nicht trennen. Der hatte auch so seine Macken mit tauben himmelblauen Philips Elkos plus ausgelaufener Ersatzakku, der anders als das Original von Varta nicht mehr verkapselt war. Die Köpfe sind auch schon ziemlich runter, und dafür gibt's keinen Ersatz mehr. Ohne Serviceanleitung wäre das Ding wahrscheinlich schon längst entsorgt worden. Dieses video hätte mir vllt. vor 15 Jahren schon einigen Frust erspart. 😵‍💫 Gelegentlich wird er noch angeworfen, aber eigentlich ist er jetzt im verdienten Ruhestand. (Meine älteren Panasonics sind dagegen noch ziemlich munter... 😉)

Ich hatte gerade einen Grundig VS 180 VCR zur Reparatur hier und muss sagen, dass Grundig sehr gut wusste, dass sie so vielseitige und hochwertige Geräte für uns Benutzer herstellen. Diese Geräte müssen nie ausgetauscht werden, alles ist leicht zu reparieren, was mir sehr gut gefällt Es. Es tut mir leid, denn die Marke Grundig wird vom deutschen Hersteller nicht mehr produziert! Ich habe einen VS-680-Typ in meiner Sammlung. Grüße aus Ungarn :-)
