Are these units really CO2 sensors or are they eCO2 sensors which actually measure TVOC then assume that the only VOC in the air is bVOC ( VOC in exhaled air ). There is an assume proportional relationship between bVOC and bCO2 exhaled. So two important assumptions. Good test will be to breath after a glass of wine. If the CO2 is different you have a TVOC / eCO2 unit. If the CO2 is unchanged it is a true CO2 unit which will not care if you are drunk!!!

I have watch all your videos on air quality monitors and have learnt at lot, however still confused on HCHO and TVOC? Is HCHO a measure of the floor boards carpets curtains etc and TVOC is a measure of paint fumes cooking stove? Could you add more to that list. Because I do have a budget and dont want to get too many monitors if HCHO is really the measure of the above than i’m not too fused about that measurement and i can do without it?

The last I found, there are more than 10,000 VOC's, and TVOC is a reading of the total of VOC's in a given area (your home, office etc.)... There is no sensor available that will tell you what VOC is being detected - which in my humble opinion - makes the reading useless, and causing more paranoia than anything helpful. In other words... A TVOC sensor will go nuts if you take a shower - * Is taking a shower harmful to you? - NO. A TVOC sensor will go nuts if you light your favorite candle to add fragrance to your home - * Is a candle burning (enjoying your favorite fragrance) harmful? - NO A TVOC sensor will go nuts as you are cooking breakfast to enjoy with your family and friends - * Is cooking breakfast or dinner suddenly harmful? - NO ETC., ETC., ETC.... There are a few VOC's that are harmful - but again - a TVOC sensor or VOC sensor will not tell you exactly what it is detecting, so you have no idea that what the sensor is detecting is or is not harmful, so causing paranoia with no explanation - making it pointless. HCHO (Formaldehyde) is in the trees in the forest, and why a HCHO sensor will go nuts around construction sites, remodeling your home, putting together a piece of furniture you buy at your favorite box store, folding or cutting paper, making your bed, vacuuming the carpet, sweeping the kitchen floor, changing your clothes etc., etc., etc... HCHO is in everything from wood to paper to clothing to pens, pencils, toothpicks, coffee cups, shoes, wallets, and the list goes on and on. Unless you have stored HCHO in liquid form in your home, there is again, no use in my opinion to have a HCHO sensor, as it will just cause paranoia - just open a window from time to time to keep the air fresh. The only use I can see for having a HCHO or TVOC sensor, is to know when you should open a window - and honestly do we really need a sensor to tell us that we should open a window? - NO In my opinion there are only two sensors that everyone should have in their homes for safety from life threatening gases, and those two sensors are - CO and CO2 period. CO and CO2 are both odorless and colorless gases, so we have no idea they are present until it is too late. Hydrogen is another gas that is deadly, and that is given off while charging lead acid batteries, and will have the same symptoms as CO, and as a matter of fact, Hydrogen is so very close to being CO that it nearly is CO, and why the symptoms of over exposure to it is so similar to CO. CO2 is part of the universe, and it is all around us all the time - 24/7/365... We exhale CO2 with every breath, and why wearing a mask for too long of a period can and will cause a person to faint or have a heart attack. Being in your car with a lot of people with windows closed can cause the people inside especially the driver to loose consciousness. Using AC in your car on MAX mode is a very dangerous habit as it doesn't allow fresh air inside, also causing the loss of consciousness if too many people are in the car with you exhausting CO2 with every breath. Humans exhale more than 50,000 ppm of CO2 with each exhale, and that will add up very quickly in a closed space with a lot of people (I talk about this in at least one of my videos). AQI numbers are also pointless as they are based on your local town that you live, and why the numbers inside your home will more than likely never match what the AQI number is in your local area. AQI numbers are also based on the monitor that you have as the number is calculated by the number of sensors inside. A monitor with only two sensors will have a much different AQI than a monitor that has 6 sensors inside... A monitor that has an AQI number that more closely represents what the local AQI number is, it is because that monitor connects to the internet to give you that data and more than likely has nothing to do with the sensors inside your device. The reason that CO2 is very important to know is because outside there is a vast area for CO2 to dissipate into the air (world). Inside your home, the CO2 is not as lucky, as it only has the area inside your walls to dissipate itself, and if your windows are all closed, the CO2 cannot escape, causing the number to go higher and higher. Normal CO2 levels in your home are from 600 to 800ppm. Some companies say up to 1000ppm, but I don't like that high of a number for any length of time. 600 to 800ppm is fine to be in, but anything above that, you should open a window, and that number will quickly go down. If you are having an issue with CO, you will know because the number will go from 0 to 2 or above... Normal CO monitor levels will be 0 or 1 and right back to 0. If CO goes to 2 or higher and stays there for a few moments, something is wrong and should be looked into immediately. CO is very very dangerous (I know, because I was poisoned by CO), and I nearly died from exposure, so why knowing CO and CO2 is so important to me, which is why I created most of my videos. I know this is a lot of information to take in, but I am hopeful that something that I have said has helped, and answered your question/s. Thank you for your question and thoughts, they are very much appreciated.

The board was a sensor. You ignored the IR LED and IR detector facing each other at 90-degrees . It shines light on dust and measured the reflection. More reflection, more dust. The worse way to do it though. Pure crap. The "proper" version of that sensor use a laser diode at least. That ways they can actually count the individual number of particles that intersect the laser beams, which creates a relatively bright flash.

Oops... I fell for it. What confuses me is that it goes all the way up sometimes, and there is no alcohol in the area. So what is the budget air quality meter?
@Outside-In.
@Outside-In. 15 күн бұрын
Cologne will make the reading go high, getting out of the shower and walking by the monitor will also make the reading go high, if someone is drinking alcohol, and breathing next to it it will go high, also I believe that it is affected by other readings as well, so why that it seems random - making it appear to be legitimate when it is not. As far as low budget meters... I am not sure there are any. By that I mean - all of my budget meters have either quit working or no longer are consistent even with re-calibration. So I would venture to say that a quality monitor is going to be in the 100's of dollars range, and even some of those don't last more than a few weeks or months, so your guess is just as good as mine unfortunately. The two most important readings to know is CO and CO2, so I would forget about any monitor except for those two, and I believe that paying a bit more for a better quality meter is the best. CO is the most important, CO2 is second most important. CO2 and CO meters can be expensive, but CO is the least expensive of the two. The Smart Sensor CO and CO2 meters that I use are what I recommend. CO2 sensors are expensive, and maybe it is because they are harder to make or harder to come by the materials to produce, not sure. Hotkrem was my favorite low budget monitor until I found out that some work, some don't, and some work for only a couple days or weeks, so I can't even recommend Hotkrem any longer, I have simply ran out of monitors that I can recommend - except of course Smart Sensor CO and CO2 meters. I am sure there are other CO and CO2 meters that are just as good as Smart Sensor, but I simply cannot afford to buy them - way too expensive LOL. I know this information probably doesn't help that much and I am sorry about that, but that is what I am finding out after all the tests that I have done...

There are a lot of reasons that this would happen... Humidity in the Summer will effect TVOC and HCHO, Remodeling in your home, Remodeling at the neighbors house and your windows are open, making the bed, cleaning the house constantly, many people taking showers one after another, cooking all day etc., etc., etc.. Also when you first get a monitor, you need to give it at least a few days or a week to get settled into your environment for the readings to stabilize. Hope this helps, and thanks for the question.

But there is also a version "PMS5003ST" which is almost identical, but has AFAIK a higher "maximum mass concentration of particulate matter" (2000ug/m3 instead of the normal 1000). Dimension, power, pin count etc are the same. No idea if that one would work, but it has a promise of having a better (other) batch of sensors. 48:40 that's an optical particle sensor. Not just nothing. Most smoke detectors work this way. I also work with professional particle detection systems, much more sensitive than a normal smoke detector. They also use a lightsource (some times a laser) and specific angle and a light sensor. Just saying "there is nothing in there" is wrong. But it's not closed well enough to block light to come in. This makes the sensor less reliable. The good ones have air channels with multiple corners avoiding any light getting in.

Actually, I was doing some testing, and found if I used a 110k ohm resistor in parallel with the potentiometer that I took out of the motor controller, it would give me the 83k ohms of resistance that I need to get full use/rotation of the potentiometer, so I ordered some 110k ohm resistors and am going to give it a try. I know that I said I didn't want to do the resistor in parallel thing, but I cannot find the correct potentiometer at all - not even close, so I thought - why not give it a shot and see if it will work???. It will give me a chance to play around with the resistor idea from others to see if it will work since I can't find another option. I can't even find two 40k ohm potentiometers to use in series, so just maybe the resistor idea might work. The only way to know for sure is to try right?... 🤔

Good video Do those battery banks have short circuit protection And is there a way to make A USB cable that plugs into them to connect them in series or parallel. That would be cool.
@Outside-In.
@Outside-In. Ай бұрын
I would say that there is no short-circuit protection, because there would be no need, as there is only a usb connection, so no way of creating a short-circuit connection without taking it apart and purposefully shorting the system out, or sticking a piece of metal inside the usb port. I am not sure if you could connect these in series, but you are right, that would be kinda cool, but am not sure it would be practical, because it would be much easier to just buy some 21700 batteries and connect them is series for the intended voltage. Thanks Joe for your comment and questions, very interesting. 👍👍👍

Such a detailed review. Does it have image stabilization?
@Outside-In.
@Outside-In. Ай бұрын
The description states stabilization, but you have to make a decision on what you think from the video as I was driving down the road. There are no settings in the config file (which you can also see when you watch the video) to turn on or off image stabilization, so I am not sure. Thanks for the question

This is an update for the Sixthgu & Miady Power Banks, that I let sit for one month. In this followup, we are going to test to see how well they hold up over time for retaining their power. The following links are for the Power Banks used in this video: Amazon Links: --------------------------------------------- SIXTHGU Portable Charger, Power Bank, S03 2-Pack 5,000mAh, 3.63oz. www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7PHKKNK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details --------------------------------------------- Miady Miady 2-Pack Portable Charger 5000mAh, 3.45oz Lightweight Power Bank, 5V/2.4A www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFV7XVDY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details If you like this type of video, please let me know in the comments about a subject you would like to discuss and I will do my best to create a video on that subject, or if you have a video idea for a DIY project, A review of a product or anything else, I will be happy to create that content as well. Thanks for stopping by, and remember - find someone who needs to laugh, needs to smile, needs to cry, or just simply needs a friend - and make it happen ;).

What weld current does the Malectrics show?
@Outside-In.
@Outside-In. Ай бұрын
I think it showed around 400-450 amps with the battery and leads I was using. The heavier the gauge and length of cable, the better the performance.

@@Outside-In. Strange. I just tried the sandwich method on a brand new Samsung INR21700 40T and it wouldn't stick at all. Weld current was ~409 A. I eventually cut off the copper strip that was in the pack I was repairing, soldered nickelstrip to the copper bar then succesfully spot welded the nickelstrip to the battery. Two years ago I repaired an identical pack and I had zero issues welding the same type of copper strip. The only difference I can think of it that the tips were sharper back then.
@Outside-In.
@Outside-In. Ай бұрын
@@jcvjcvjcvjcv Spot welding copper is the hardest thing for a welder to perform. Make sure the copper strip is not more than 0.1mm thick, and the nickel also not more than 0.1 or 0.15mm. If that still does not work, you may have to sharpen the needles a bit, or at least sand the tips to clean them so they can provide a better weld.

I just subscribed. I always wondered if you could just use a regular scale to and didn't realize you could get ones with hold feature like this. Thank you my man. When I looked there is two different models .1 g and .01g. I got the .01g for better accuracy

I wonder if this guy wore a compliance mask during the covid plandemic and condemned those of us who didn't.

Thanks for your thoughts and innuendo - much appreciated. I bend to no one, I bow to no one except God, so no, I did not wear a mask in the "plandemic", as a matter of fact, I was asked to leave several establishments because I refused to wear a mask. I hope this answers your concerns my friend - have a great 4th of July, and let us always remember, - before we decide to pass judgement on someone, - Let us be sure that what we think is the truth - really is the truth... 👍

I had to replace my windshield wiper pump and now I have it working again but now my back windshield wiper does not dispense any fluid. I wonder if I need to replace the jet could it possibly be clogged? I have a 2003 Ford Expedition

Sounds like a good possibility, but you never know, it could be that the hose it broken or clogged. It may also be at the reservoir possibly. Like mine, wasn't sure until I tore into it.
