Rui Deng UM34C - UM25C - UM24 USB Power Capacity Meters Review Plus Tutorial on Using Them

Glen from Rui Deng made it possible for me to get a UM34C for test and review. I also added a UM25C and a UM24 to the list of tests & reviews to add to this video. Rui Deng products are awesome and am very happy to have been given the opportunity to create a video for Rui Deng.
I know this is a longer video, but there is so very much detail that goes into these devices, so I wanted to be able to cover every aspect of these meters to better help you with understanding how they work. I did not have the time to create chapters before uploading, but will try and create chapters when I return from my trip. Thank you for your understanding.

Overall a great review of these devices... But, let me throw some cautionary thoughts at you and one of them is, Whatever is supplying the USB power you need to be careful about how much power output is available from that device, more specifically a typical USB port is somewhere around 500mA USB 2.0 to about 900mA for USB 3.1 that's generally the output from like a computer, drawing more than that generally speaking has the potential to damage the USB port, though it has protection, it has its limits and drawing too much current also heats up the components... Whatever your going to do I would recommend that you use a power adapter to plug into the USB multiport dongle. And of course check the rating on the power adapter. Those are my thoughts and concerns I enjoyed the review and look forward to your future reviews on products like these. 🙂

Thank you for your comment and thoughts. I agree with you, but I didn't mention in the video what the multiport usb Hub was plugged into. It was plugged into a power supply, not a computer. I used the multi port usb because I didn't have enough single power supplies for these meters.

Thank you for your message , you are right . but in fact UM34C is just measurement tool to measure voltage and current , not provide current. the current was depended on USB device , not our meter our meter is also to test phone charging current , some current will be more than 5A , our meter range must be big too

These are USB Power Capacity Testing Meters that are used for testing Amp-Hour capacity of Cell Phones, Power Banks or for testing USB Cables for impedance and resistance.

I have some of these also, but I don't use them much, I just want them. I have always had a fetish for test equipment. I have seen through the years that some of them have had firmware updates. Do you know if there is any way for the end user to install the updated firmware?

sorry , for our UM series meter don't have such function for updating firmware our TC66c can do that for meter , it was useful , you can check the charging current to judge it work or not , or charger good or not , cable is good or bad

sorry, it don't support PD, because it only have one type-c connector TC66C support PD 3.0
