Hey Dean... Gotta say, that after a week simply learning from scratch in my own tenant for the sake of a new project that landed on me, I have seen you quite a bit lately. You're right, this ish is sucking for me right now! However, companies still have local AD and are in a hybrid topology for the unseen future. You do great videos, but I really need something other than how much it sucks and we should all go cloud only. Show me how it's done, please, or show me how to find logs etc., or kindly stop whining! It's not helping me right, mate! :)

Nice video! Possible to show the smb file server share access from a Windows client? Mapped drives? Wondering about the speed (download/upload/opening files). And the load on the Connector (cpu/network) when multiple people are working on files through this setup. And then moving down the road to Azure Files via this setup.

Is that trial license what it adds when you press "activate" on the secure access? My tenant just shows it as "activate" but I've been hesitant to trial as I don't want it to randomly charge anything haha

This is a great feature that we have tested and are now using to access a filesercer from everywhere. Works great and stable

At my last job have Global Secure setup. It is very good. Once you setup the network segment and security group. Within 5-15min you have connection to your onprem environment.

This is very interesting i guess $12.00 user/month it worth the hustle.

@DeanEllerbyMVP there is a couple of problems I have with Microsoft providing this kind of service to private networks. 1. Firewalls come with VPN support and cost less than Microsoft's Entra suite licensing, in some cases it costs nothing for VPN client licenses on certain brands of firewalls. 2. You are likely not as old as me, but back in the before MS starting moving things to the cloud SysAdmins used to always "don't put all your eggs in one basket", doing this ane Entra/Intune/MDE is putting all your eggs in one basket. Banks and other finanical insitutions don't use Microsoft 365 to the extent non-finanical insitutions (companies large, medium, and small) with younger SysAdmins at the helm do.

@DeanEllerbyMVP as much as I like this for our Intune devices, I wish MS would also allow you to use the Autopatch on the MDE devices too. Since the failed at that we have decided to stick to our RMM doing the patching for us.

Hi dean when you créate a New profile of AV from intune and assign to endpoint on MDE, how much time take effect. I have an endpoint with MDE for test, and i créate a new profile AV. I create a group from intune with this endpoint and assign the new profile. Something is not working, because i has wait ing about 1 hour and still de Endpoint has the AV default when enrolles the first time. Its samething missing??

Magic, tell that to workers that want it off as its driving them insane when they have multi screen setups and because Windows STILL cannot handle resolution changes it throws all their scaling out. Why cant MS just focus on stability vs gimmicks

This doesn't work... When I open Deploy-application.exe on my local pc it works perfectly, but as soon as I deploy it in intune as Win32app nothing happens in company portal.

@DeanEllerbyMVP this is a good video but at the same time Microsoft doesn't give you an idea how to properly setup Intune AV for MDE devices such as servers. So right now my servers are 2 weeks behind in backups because the AV is blocking Active Backup for Business on my my Hyper-V hosts and I don't see a direct way of disabling AV...

Hey Dean, have you experienced iOS devices that were enrolled using web enrollment, not being able to "remove passcode" in the Intune portal? It is grayed out. If you enroll the same device with the Company Portal app itself, it is available.

Great videos btw have been following for a long while now and have alwasy found them useful. I was wondering though if there was a way to enroll an iOS device into the company fully instead of using the apply configurator? I have a few older iPads I need to enroll but the configurator doesn't always seem to work.

Enrolling personal Android devices into Intune is the only way to use the work profile feature isn't it? I think it's OK to enrol personal ios and android devices as long as its done correctly. Account driven user enrollment (json host) seems to work really well for ios

I downloaded the same file. Have you tried that specific download? I'm experiencing issues with the clients accepting the DHCPOFFER, which results in them being assigned APIPA addresses. I have attempted to disable the firewall and used IPCONFIG /RELEASE and IPCONFIG /RENEW. I also checked the DHCP server but didn't have any success. Do you have any recommendations?

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm curious-if you proceed with deploying any of these imported GPOs, will it create a new custom configuration with an OMA-URI based on the CSP Mapping? Is there a way to check for conflicts, both before or after deployment, not only in the Security Baselines but also in other configuration profiles that might already have a specific CSP mapping set?

Just a heads up to anyone following this, V4 of the App Deploy Toolkit changed a couple of things, namely the exe/ps1 is now called Invoke-AppDeployToolkit and instead of Deploy-Application and Execute-Process is now Start-ADTProcess

I wonder why it is not creating a "Application" in Intune for Macs. Also, it doesn't allow you to specify the groups for access, so that means you have to go back and manage that in Intune.
