Hi, I enjoy watching your vids, I learn from you! I want to replace the factory hook with a stronger hook more suitable for salmon. I usually use 1/4 and 3/8 oz crocs and Koho spoons. Any suggestions? Good luck in your future fishing
@FishingwithRodКүн бұрын
Yep you definitely want to change those hooks unless you plan to do long line catch and release. 😜 I like to use VMC’s Techset open siwash hooks. They come in two different kinds, wide gap and regular. Regular is my preference. These hooks have a much stronger shank which does not bend easily when fighting a fish, and of course the hook point is way sharper and stays sharp for a long time.

One of my favourite spots to fish. Been going there for years.
@thomasbruun41192 күн бұрын
in Denmark, we do not use hooks after our lure to get the gar. No, a new thing is sliktread. It gets tangelet in the gar many small theet. So we set the sliktread where you normaly would set your hook. the silk makes it also more gentle to the fisk. the silk dosent make any damage to the fish. Everybody was nor beleaving in the silk to start whit, now everybody use it, you get every fish, much better than a hook.

I always wondered if you were using a waterproof camera. That answered that question. Hopefully its undamaged. Salt water is the worst.

🤣 In 15 years I have drowned two DSLR cameras, cracked a few lenses on rocks, and one GoPro is sitting at the bottom of a lake. 🤣 It's just part of the game when trying to get the shots I want.

That's an Islander LX3.4. The green ones are not that common as they only produce those every now and then. If you look on FB Marketplace they may pop up every now and then.

If you are closer to Nanaimo google Shelton Lake. Beavertail Lake and Shelton Lake were selected to be fertilized to support kokanee fishing on the island. Due to Shelton Lake being in the boonies and locked behind gates you can only access it on weekends between 8am-8pm than they lock them with or with out you.
