Not interested in flip out screen - perfect as it is. This camera is made for photographers and not bloggers or people who want to play at being a videographer.

@adamlernerphoto thank you for the video. Have you ever had issues with the Airport Security V2 or 3 fitting in the overhead of an Airbus A320/321? Have you flown JetBlue with it? Mine measures 23.5” not the published 22” domestic airline length limit. Thank you

I really don't know that kind of specific detail and would recommend taking the measurements and comparing to the Airbus overhead measurements. I try to carry on a @thinktankphoto backpack typically and love my Streetwalker Harddrive when I have lots of gear and laptop and the Airport Essentials when traveling light. The risk is always if it doesn't fit, I don't want to take the risk of checking it as it doesn't have the shell of a Pelican case which can be tossed around, not that I ever want to imagine my camera gear being tossed around! :)

@@AdamLernerPhoto Don't get me wrong though, now I can buy one in the UK for just over £1000 I am very tempted as a second camera to my Sony A7R4. It is great lookiong and feels very solid, if rather heavy though. I went Leica many many years ago With the M8, but quickly realised Leica is the best marketed luxury item/camera around. Sold up and went with the Sony A7 series and all became clear. The Leica cult couldn't hold me.

@@kevinslaney486 Makes no sense, but the SL is possibly one of the most simple and elegant mirrorless full frame cameras. Easy menus, easy interface. Focused on function. No AA filter for sharper more dynamic images. HUGE and bright EVF. Built like a tank.

Twelve years later I’ve found a D4 for 800 euros with 59k shots near mint conditions and a wt-5 100 euros,less than mine P1000 payed 1200 euros new,i’m so satisfied D4 is still a great camera,in a world where all the foolish follows only the sensor’s pixel number😊Next step a D3X in best conditions 😊

How do you see the images of M9M compared to M10M? I have heard opinions that the CCD sensors produce better results. Comments?

Both are amazing sensors and produce incredible BW images. I think the M9M is probably the most filmic bw sensor ever made and if you want BW's that most closely resemble film that camera will deliver. However the M10M is far more capable and versatile. They're hard to compare since they're so many generations apart. But if you do go with an M9M just make sure it's had the sensor replaced as the original sensors were prone to corrosion.

You were inside the barber shop with 2 different lighting colors. One from the widow outside natural light and the led light inside. You cannot expect to have the right skin color that way.

It's a great tip for medium-format users with leaf shutter lenses. It makes receiving signal faster allowing to use your max sync speed of 1/1600 without loss of flash power. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with HSS.

2:40 Absolutely not ! The M10M sensor was develop in B&W exclusively. It's not a color one translated in B&W like the previous models.

It's the same sensor as the M10R minus the color arrays removed. Yes, it's been tweaked for optimal performance, but the actual sensor shares the same DNA as the M10R sensor. All of the previous models were developed in the same manner by removing the color array from the color version. Unless you know something different, please enlighten us.

Ah wow. I've wanted this since 2007-ish. Question though, so how do the framelines work? So you put a 35 and it's basically a 50(ish). So you set your frame lines to 50? or to 35?

I wish film were easier/cheaper to process and scan. Doing it at home is fine if you have lots of time and space, but labs here in Australia are charging a fortune (especially for scanning) and seriously taking the joy out of film photography for me. Such a shame since it seems to be more popular in 2023 even than 2022 and 2021! With extra film sales and more people doing it, you'd imagine prices might come down instead of going up. Oh well

just picked one of these up, video was very helpful. Only question is when looking through the viewfinder I dont see the ghost image to line up focus. Any suggestions to fix this?

It sounds to me like you're inadvertently covering up the rangefinder window. Look on the front of the camera body toward the top, there is a tiny rectangular window. That's is where the light comes into the rangefinder and if you cover it with your hand, you will not see anything. Also, for the meter to work, you will need to advance the shutter lever.

Interesting ... 3 years later on the used market the prices have turned. The 50S is cheaper to buy used.I guess this will be until a new version of the 50R will be introduced that will be cheaper new than the 50S II. Than the 50Rs will drop to half their current price - or there will not be a new version of the R and it will be one of those cult cameras that will be more expensive used then it's new price

It's an incredibly unique camera that uses M mount lenses which and has a 1:1 viewfinder making the shooting experience incredible. Sure you can get a D100 but will probably hate it.

@@AdamLernerPhoto I agree, the shooting experience on a Rd1s must be amazing. But budget wise it is hard to justify the close to $2k asking price unfortunately. Perhaps I will get lucky and find one selling for cheap at a thrift store someday ;) ps: I have 2 D200 shih I really like. But yeap... DSLR style shooting, not rangefinder!
