I was disappointed that my fine Twsbi Eco writing looks thicker in the 2025 weeks compared to 2024. It showed me the difference. Luckily as my weeks is my EDC I use the Hobonichi pens. I use fountain pen in my A6 original. Not tested that you but think I will off the back of this. Thanks for doing this. 💛

I got mini samples of the new paper with some of my books last year so I think Hobonichi prepared us the best they could - baring an actual issue with the 5 years. I actually thought the ghosting got more obvious in the 2024 cousin (compared to 2023), so maybe I am just used to it by now and tbh I like ghosting. I hope people with issues get them resolved
@lethbridgepaper11 күн бұрын
I didn’t notice any extra ghosting with the 2024 Cousin and I don’t really notice any more ghosting with the 2025 Cousin but that bleeding is definitely worse than last year. It sounds like those with issues with the five year are getting their books swapped which is good.

A new manufacturer of course means there would be changes. It’s probably hard to explain all the specifics but I think paper manufacturing is very complicated! But I totally get people being shocked by differences but at the same time they have announced the paper change for years 😅 of course there will be combinations of ink pen nib etc that might cause trouble as always - similar to rubber stamping and inks - it can changes over time within the book when you stamp with different inks. All very interesting and stationery nerdy - but I hope the information just helps folks make the right decision for themselves!
@lethbridgepaper11 күн бұрын
Oh absolutely I imagine the tolerances that they have to work with make it crazy. I think the thing that is confusing to people is that the paper on the Cousin didn’t change for 2025, it was the same as 2024’s paper, and so for the results to change so dramatically it has to be jarring. I don’t recall anywhere near this amount of noise last year when most of the books changed to the Sanzen paper so I’m really intrigued as to what changed in the process this year.
@tortagialla11 күн бұрын
@@lethbridgepaper That totally makes sense, when you buy something with a certain expectation and it totally changes. I haven't really noticed much change at all and I have weeks from 2023-2024-2025 and then the original techos... but I mostly use extra fine fountain pens, so probably the lowest "stress" on the paper so to speak. I wonder if there is just a bad batch as many have noted and you should get a replacement if the product is defective!
@lethbridgepaper11 күн бұрын
It’s definitely anything felt tip adjacent that seems to cause issues. So for my day to day use with a fountain pen I can’t imagine it’ll impact anything, thankfully!
@LittleKikuyu4 күн бұрын
Tbh, people should be contacting customer service left right and centre, imo. Paper quality is not a natural phenomenon that one has to accept 😅 Hobonichi is famous for being fountain pen friendly, so for me the price is not justified if the paper is now equal to the the worst of moleskine‘s 🙈
@lethbridgepaper3 күн бұрын
@@LittleKikuyuwhere the fountain pen is bleeding I totally agree. You don’t buy a planner with TR paper to not use a fountain pen on it.

I cant do the whole pre-order stuff, i just use a blank nanami paper notebook anyways, but even if i did use a printed planner, i couldnt deal with the whole pre-order and wait for months thing, oliblock used to do that too and, even though i love their clips, i cant handle waiting for pre-order stuff, im too impatient, i want it now and if i cant have it now im just not buying it, lol, so i guess i save myself the disappointment of ending up not using stuff by refusing to participate in pre-orders 😂

Greit video and a simple method is the easiest to stick to. Shop around when it comes to reviewing insurance policies as it’s a great way to save money. Start a pension early - as soon as you start working because if you don’t have that sum of money available to you in your salary, you won’t miss it. If you have children or are planning for them, my previous boss put away €50 per month per child from the time the children were born and he was able to pay for them to study at uni. I suppose the secret with saving is to put away a little and often is that it becomes a habit. Tracking your spending is a great way to see where the money is going. With a debit card it’s so easy to tap away and not realise where the money is going. There is a lot to be said about withdrawing a certain amount of cash per month or week as that way it’s easier to control where it’s going.

I'm assuming the UK one is the Hobonichi UK users? The other three that I mainly look at are these: facebook.com/groups/191523457976869/ facebook.com/groups/1219889861389235/ facebook.com/groups/HobonichiTechoUsers/ They sadly are more USA focused, it's a shame the UK group is a little quiet.

My Daughter had a sketch book she didn't want anyone to see. I thought she might be drawing stuff she thought was taboo. I did get to flip through it and the pictures were basically fine. No naughty, no drawings of horrific things. I think we had a discussion and she asked :"well if you had a journal would you want me to read it?". It was like seeing things a new way. Her drawings were just as intimate as writings. I could not interpret what made it that way but they were. It would be like if I wrote a journal in another language like Klingon where most people would not know what it says even if they could speak Klingon. I never looked at her journals but sometimes she would show me things. I learned something interesting and it was a new perception for me.
@pendlera2959Ай бұрын
Why couldn't you just respect her boundary? Many people struggle to keep journals or make private art even into adulthood because their parents went through their stuff when they were a kid. What's so horrible about letting kids have private thoughts, even naughty thoughts? Even if she was being abused, you'd just be adding to her sense of violation.
@mugglescakesniffer3943Ай бұрын
