My x wife got a '04 it has multi issues such as door lock...aka key fob and keyless entry not working. However, I'm trying to see if they put a back light in the info center of the cluster and if that's burned but not out because in extreme darkness you can see it somewhat so i know that its functioning. The retrostat doesn't do any good to brighten or dim was wondering if that could be a issue as well i know we are both grabbing straws at this point just looking for another prospective.

The keyless entry wouldn't be related to the cluster. The lighting issue is not a backlight, it's a circuit board level repair. We can take care of it here: bit.ly/Freestar-Repair

@@TaninAutoElectronix I got that it's another project when I get to it. We'll see I been doing electronics for most of my life, and I'm about to hit 60. I had a Taurus that the eatc went black and I went to the stealership and got a $8 bulb in 1999 and fixed it but no mater the issue I'll tackle it

I have a Lexus is 300 awd 2017 model , I bought a dashboard from f sport should I just disconnect the old one and connect the new one ? Or do I need special cables and computer firmware ? I would appreciate an answer, thank you.

Great video. One question can you just mark the location of the needle before you remove it rather than recalibration it?

Whatever works best for you. This method is for a cluster on a bench and not plugged into the truck or fuel sender. You can also note your last fuel tank level and then stick the needle on at the same level. This way is a little more accurate because you are calibrating it to an exact known position.

So I bought your replacement motor and after following your instructions and putting everything back together my fuel gauge still jumps all over the place.

Where did you get the new cluster plastic? Mines all scuffed up & damaged from the previous owner, I upgraded the lights & now it drives me nuts cause the "Glass" looks bad.. I could change it out with my other trucks Cluster but I think the mileage is stored in the cluster and not the ECU :*(

That's actually not new. We offer a polishing and cleaning service for used clusters and lenses. Good quality used lenses usually go for around $100 otherwise. They are discontinued from the dealer. Send us an email if interested. contact @ taninauto.com

Not sure. The customer just brought it to us to replace the gauge cluster. Might have some type of transmission fault or sensor problem.

Too difficult for who? Someone should have at least 1 year of electronic experience with the proper de-soldering and soldering equipment in order to rebuild this. The motors are available on our site: bit.ly/Toyota-Stepper We don't sell LEDs

Just saw the video first one I’ve seen that tells you how to take off your cluster I have a 2010 Toyota tundra four-wheel-drive my cluster went down the only thing that works is gas and battery gauges do I need to replace the whole cluster ?

Sounds like a possibility. Display not working either? It could be a fuse or wiring.

You can ship the cluster to us for repair and diagnosis for that issue. The LCD screen will only fix the display problem

What about 2003 year model ls430's. Do you have options for those? The issue is when you switch the exterior headlights on, everything inside the cabin goes dark. When you switch the headlights off everything on the inside cabin lights up. It should be the reverse of that. So the first time I drove at night, when the headlights are on, and it's dark, the entire inside of the cabin is completely dark, including the dashboard. You cannot see how fast you are going Something was wired backwards.

Im sittong in my cat right now. Trying to access this bloody chime buzzer/speaker inside the instrument panel. Thanks for the tips. Prying the top with a flathead screwdriver and downshitfting to position 1 was the answer. But there is a small wire cable at the bottom of the panel. It's quite fragile and is linked to the gear selector. You dont explain how to managewith this while it's mandatory for the instrument to be removed !!

Do you mean by using the sport button to select it? You would likely need to buy and install a sport button and wire it in. If that helps answer your question.

Hello sir 2005 LS430 Waterl leaked throught righg tail light and i had error saying external Not connected so ECu , i pulled it out fix the leak and dried out the ecu and no mositure , it worked good for the same day I fixed and next morning now I have weired issue the navigation and backup camera is blank screen black , i cleared code and everything still no luck Radio and climate works properly , i ordered another unit from ebay and its same issue , Can you please help me ?

@blaise2fresh you can DIY the repair. That board and display is separate from the rest of the cluster. Buy a parts cluster and swap it out. Mileage is not part of that assembly.
