If you want to assume that the next cluster you install doesn't have the same problem. They all suffer from these issues. Also, if you install a different cluster your mileage will change.

Yes, the prior generation of gauge clusters had similar issues. We don't offer a repair currently, but could try and figure it out.

I've got a 05 G35 6MT. The speedometer does not work. When I try to perform the self-test for the gauges, I cannot get the self-test to initiate. The FSM states that if the test cannot be initiated, then to replace the combination meter. Is this something that you guys could fix?

Nope, it just doesn't move while driving or if I try to perform the self test on the cluster

Everything fails with age. Components, heat cycles, use, solder. These are almost 20 years old so it is expected. All electronics degrade over time. Our repairs restore the parts to like-new so they will last another decade or two.

Time will tell if the gas gauge is fixed since I recently filled up but I just wanted to say I’m very happy to have my manual mode back.
