No warlord is a role model no matter how cool he might have been. The only historic leader role models we should have are people who try to make life better for the people of the country and world like FDR, Fred Hampton, Thomas Sankara and etc.

Bands work guys, but if you are so weak that you need like 3 thick green ones to do a pullup its best to do some kind of cable pulldown and build a base of strength first, then progress to band assisted pullups, then gradually replace the bands with lighter ones and when you only need a really thin one and can do a few sets of 5 you are probably good to go with normal pullups
@KalkuehlGym4 ай бұрын
Saying that bands are dangerous would be equivalent of saying pullups themselfs are dangerous, because you could lose grip and fall. Wtf. And ofc you can progress by doing progressive overload by doing more reps. If your goal are 10 reps, progress to 15 and you are able to do 10 with a weaker band or even without one. Its true that bands are bad for the upper movement but the stretched position is the most important part anyway. So you support yourself with the band so you are able to do atleast the half rep in good form.
@itsxela96174 ай бұрын
Or, you could just do a band assisted pull-up and ignore any wannabe influencers that don't know a single thing about fitness.
@MavpaBanan4 ай бұрын
Sorry, what? I'm a streetlifter from Ukraine and I can do pullups with +60kgs for 8 reps... and when I started I couldn't do any pullups at all. I did banded pullups, progressed with the band for a couple months, using shorter and shorter band and doing more and more reps, and I learned how to do regular pullups, before adding weight. The band is a legitimate tool. It helps you develop the muscles and pulling power required for pullups. It's not perfect, but nothing really is - negative pullups do not work the concentric by definition, so technique/scapular work does not develop from them, and just scapular pullups won't get you sufficient strength. And the "bands are dangerous claim" is insane... I've probably spent fifty sessions training with them and never got injured, and besides, it's just an elastic. To any beginners watching this, who couldn't do a single pullup no matter what like me, don't listen to this clown. Use the band. Do scapular pullups. You'll progress. You'll be able to do pullups.
@jrm82064 ай бұрын
I guess if you just 'street lift' with some beers and have little chill session with no progress tracking possible whatsoever its great way to train as a beginner.
@MavpaBanan4 ай бұрын
@@jrm8206 First it’s hard alcohol not beer. Second you track your progress by seeing how many reps you do each session, and once you get to 12 reps you use an easier band. Assuming that you aren’t 300 pounds you should progress quickly
@Aleqander4 ай бұрын
@@jrm8206 Google street lifting before you comment on it, and partucularly with band assisted pull ups, you can track amount of reps, band strength, range of motion and other factors in your form. Idk where you got beers and chill sessions from, but go ahead and train your crossfit while intoxicated.
@zareien22904 ай бұрын
Same problems with the exercise you proposed. Just focus on proper form and safety, reduce band strength over time, and then even you can learn to do a pullup

You ever do a pull-up before? Top of the pull up isn’t the hardest I can easily hold myself there. Whereas, it’s much harder to hold yourself halfway
@JesseManman4 ай бұрын
True. I would say that his comment about the band not providing enough help still applies, though. I would say that bands are fine and can certainly help. However, isometric holds are a better alternative. You could also use a pull-up machine, which would be optimal; but if you have no gym access, or you can't do isometric holds for longer than 10 seconds, bands are the way to go.
