I thought the three big pages were very interesting, hopefully the last two will dry better😀I’m intrigued by your use of wallpaper lining paper, I don’t think it’s a big thing here in Australia, could you shed some light on why you use it please. Thank you
@CarolynJRobertsArtist10 күн бұрын
Thanks Milly. I just use this lining paper for experimental work - I wouldn't use if for 'saleable' work. It's cheap paper that I don't get precious over. Carolyn

Hi Carolyn I thought you had some beautiful washes on the 3 you were not happy with, just beautiful 😍😍😍 Hopefully when you look at them with fresh eyes you will be able to see what I see. If they do turn out to be too tall, you can always quote them with that gloss medium when you’re done. Gloss medium will make them glow. 👍

Thx Catherine - yes, I've left them for the weekend, and will take another look on Monday! Have added in some of the gloss gel medium, so will see if that makes a difference!

Your technique is very intriguing. I’ve been into fountain pens for a number of years and have a large collection of fountain pen ink and was wondering if you’ve ever tried fountain pen ink for your painting? Have you used watercolor paint? It seems like one could make a watercolor mix that would do much the same thing as the ink you are using. Anyway, you’ve gained a new subscriber and I plan to try this with my watercolors and ink.

Hi Gary...thanks for your interest and for becoming a subscriber, very much appreciated... Yes, I do use watercolour paint, often times with the ink - it's a combination I love. I have used Indian ink and the Quink ink which can produce interesting effects. I look forward to seeing what you create... Carolyn

Hola Carolayn, soy Mari, te sigo y me gustaria saber que tipo de papel utilizas en tus acuarelas y tintas, gracias
@CarolynJRobertsArtist3 ай бұрын
Hello Mari, thank you for following, appreciated. I use 300gsm cartridge paper, or hot pressed watercolour paper, usually 200lb or over. I like Fabriano Artistico or Saunders Waterford, or if I'm feeling rich, I like Arches watercolour paper - all hot pressed as I prefer a smooth surface. I use quite a lot of fluid, hence using paper of 200lb plus as it can take the amount of liquid. Hope that helps, Carolyn
