So did it fix the problem I've got 2001 v6 escape in Australia we've just swapped over engine & it goes great over say 1500rpm but when you drop it down to idle it stops. So hopefully this quick fix will fix the issue

In the US there are multiple fuel injector cleaners, by far the best I used is Royal Purple brand, I would try that too as long as spark plugs change and air filter, lastly disconnect the battery to reset ECM usually 20 minutes or so, then reconnect and idle run for 15, when start drive within next 100 miles just accelerate gently, no high RPM, I'm sure it will help... Best ✌️

Very important that the vehicle is level and fluid at operating temp for an accurate check of the fluid level. Fluid expands with temp. Cold will not give you an accurate level as so many are saying here.

I guess Nissan put my engine filter backwards bc the tab was in the inside! Probably paid them a pretty penny to put it in backwards. Hope that didn't harm my engine. Maybe that is why it has been sounding bad. Also, it goes in both ways, so how do u know which way besides the "tab"? There were red vertical lines on the one side.

I managed to do it myself, Rouge 2015 S. 200k km never changed before. Report for the records; - The cap for the oil reservoir is hell to take out, I cut it off with oscillating machine!!! you think it is rough start!! - I don't have the dip stick, so i used a long zip tie ~25'', and i took the mark of the original oil. I fed the zip tie too much at the beginning, it caught into something inside!! with some patience and force i released it, I panicked for 2 minutes, hopefully it didn't damaged something inside. - Removed 12 clips for the black fabric - I left the drain plug attached as i found it rusty, and i don't have crush washer. so i preferred to leave it sealed as is. - I unscrewed 19 screws. Some of them were very rusty. Took the pan down with some splashes. - Changed the screen filter. - Removed the gasket, it was very attached to the metal. it left some unremovable parts on the metal. I tried to scrap it but didn't want to create solid powder inside. - Failed to unscrew the cooling filter cover. 2 screws are very hard to reach or to access. Even i have accessories for the socket wrench. It needs very low profile 10mm socket. So i decide to skip this filter. - cleaned the pan, put new gasket. - screwed back 19 screws - Added the oil, it took 4 liters. You need a long thin funnel. - It took around 5 hours (it could take 3 without my shenanigans)

This basic video is elementary. To do it properly, use the transmission out and in fluid cooling lines to change oil out entirely. Look at the fluid out until you see the clear new oil come out. then put it all back together and check oil level by using the oil level plug on the side of the tranny. Now, and only now, you have changed out the transmission fluid.

That is only a partial fluid change. The total fluid in rogue trans is 8.4 quarts. Leaving 3/4 of the old oil in the torque converter and valve body is not a change.. A trans fluid change includes all of the old oil out 1st, then fill with all new oil. Plus there is a paper filter behind the heat exchanger that you did not even address. WTF?

The filter is also a simple media construction - there really is no “backwards”, unlike a filter that can have metal mesh or other rigid material that needs to be on the backside of flow.

Fill the filter and I never use used oil on the filter gasket. When you prefill the filter, you will have new oil next to the gasket it always happens when you prefill so wipe some new oil on it. Sorry bud but you did no favors to the viewers.

Folks are always welcome to go their own routes 😊 for prefilling filters, while it doesn’t hurt, you’ll also notice few if any auto manual or mechanic shops follow this practice, and just go with a regular install.

loose the jack and get yourself a set of ramps so much easier quicker and most of all safer. Also loose the rachet and socket because sometimes under the effort needed to loosen the drainplug it can tilt slightly and slip. Over time eventually you could end up rounding off the head. Instead use a box end wrench they work so much better. Been changing my oil since 1970.

I just replaced this, along with the EGR Control/Vacuum Solenoid and the DPFE sensor. My 2008 Escape has 150K miles on it and the vacuum hoses were at it their life-end. They were all crumbling into dust. Ford used to sell the harness with all these (same diameter) but they discontinued it. There are no aftermarket assemblies available. So, I removed the harness and laid it flat on the workbench, on a large paper towel to catch the rubber dust, so I could keep the direction of the attachments aimed correctly. Then I painstakingly replaced each one carefully. This was not hard to do but it was time-consuming. Just pay close attention when you remove the harness because it passes through a tunnel, close to the firewall and it is a bear to get it back through.

Hi. Thnx for the Vid ! ... What about the CVT oil filter that goes inside the pan? Does that needs replacement? Here another vid for reference, shows the filter after min 2. Thanks ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKunc4NufpJgl8U

There are indeed *two* additional filters inside the transmission, one at the top and one within the pan. You can absolutely do that filter swap, though be warned the bolts around the pan are very easy to strip/require very low torque to tighten.
