Were you doing the front or rear brakes? Is there a difference in brakes with 4WD? Is a 2007 Mercury Mariner the same process?

Jack stand was indeed used ☺️promise the plastic bucket used for holding the brake caliper wasn’t used for any car weight!

Wow, I am a DIY’r myself and have replaced brakes and rotors many times. I was watching this video to make sure I had the right tools to help him replace them on his escape. However, if you watch this you will observe, at 2:30 there is a shot of the CV boot dislodged, then throughout you see the CV joint grease all over the rotor. How could DIY miss that? No wonder the breaks weren’t working, they are all lubed up. Not to mention the safety concerns. I do however appreciate the effort and success

That actually isn’t grease, but WD-40 that has been pre-applied. 😊

@@MattStephensRich My bad and I apologize for the judgement. Sadly I was watching the video again after my "S$%9" response, and realized the liquid must have been WD40. Go figure, I rarely post to videos and with yours I was completely wrong and again apologize. Thank you for your assistance, as your video was quite helpful. Most would attempt to delete their posts, but I will stand up to my error and, again thank you for your understanding and service.
