Kudo without the paper gloves or plastic helmet is an unfair match. Kudo is a practicing art, not a fighting skill, like Muy Thai.

The take away should not be that Chinese martial arts are fake. These "masters" are fake -- they just practiced form and they certainly do not have the physique to power any of the moves. In contrast, Donnie Yeh practiced Wing Chun and is quite muscular when he was young (still very fit now). I realize he is "acting", but I fathom to say he will do quite well against a boxer. Needless to talk about Bruce Lee. There are also plenty of real Sholin maters who can take some serious pain and have incredible strength -- they will do well in a real fight too.

The host of the video is completely bias. I bet he’s a grappler himself lol. Hate these grapplers who are like white belts in whatever they do overrating their martial art with these types of videos when the belt difference or experience difference is completely unfair for the striker.

Wearing gloves gives the advantage to the striker because he can punch harder and mire recklessly without fearing of breaking his hands.

The reason the Krav Maga oponent didn’t really put up a fight is because he didn’t want to accidentally seriously injure the mma. The narrator has no idea how seriously deadly Krav is. U can land a strike that can kill instantly. They were basically dancing and throwing some hits. Put some pads on and truly let them loose I can say the Krav fighter will turn into a whole other animal. Y do u think it’s one of the most deadly mma of the elite sf world of IDF ?? Cause it’s that tough! There are some sf branches that incorporate Krav in with Brazil ju jitzu with muay tai. These guys were going east on each other.

Internal martial arts will focus on the physical and chemical reflexes. Kung fu studied hyper functional vertebrae and learned the reflex paths... not just their vibes...

He gets to use both arms and both legs, and didn’t have to wear gloves to interfere with his techniques and still lost to a one-arm boxer. Kung fu proves itself to be weak, useless, and worthless.

the "judo is more complex than shuai jiao because you practice the moves from many angles" thing is nonsense. Shuai Jiao does it too- as does Serak. It just seems to be an obvious line of thinking.

Overhook uchi mata because he caught him on 1 leg or between the legs for the lift, if he caught him across his hips and outside both legs for the toss, it would've been harai goshi.

More info about Bokator: There are around ten thousand techniques to this martial art, but some were lost during Pol Pot regime after they killed almost every master. Luckily, we have the elbow strike and many techniques on our 12th century temple. You can check Bokator wiki page for that. Not to mention the grand master San Kimsean spent most of his life to document everything from the masters who survive. Regarding Kun Khmer, it was a sport version of the martial art which was previously called Prodal Serey (Free Style/Mixed Marital Art Boxing). The oldest pics I can find were also on Bokator wiki page. One image was took in the 1910 and another one in 1920, so unlike the other that said we only created recently is wrong. The word Kun Khmer itself was first introduced in the early 2000s, but a famous announcer Ma Serey, but it was not official until recently.

Something I always wonder about with traditional kung-fu practitioners when they go into mma is why do they put their hands into a traditional boxing guard when they fight? Why not hold their hands in the traditional starting position they practice in Kung-fu?
@athenry17 сағат бұрын
I think it may be because most kung-fu schools teach from a "the routines are the fighting techniques" point of view, which is likely historically incorrect. The routines, from what I have been able to determine, are meant to teach various movement patterns to learn the "basic feel" of certain energies or forces. The actual fighting techniques that would be used are more like what we see in "kickboxing" (although from an older bareknuckle perspective, so more like old karate). I came to this realisation by paying close attention to Hai Yang's youtube video lectures on the history and practice of internal chuan-fa (especially xingyi) and by reading the old xingyi manuals from the 19th century and early 20th century.

Check out General Qi Jiguang's manuals. Both hands were up. Modern kung-fu stances are influenced by movies, not how they were used centuries ago.

In the last fight shown here Alan did show some traditional stances and hand guard. There are 400 different styles of Chinese Kungfu. So we don't even know what all the stances and guards look like.

The last bout shown here was more challenging. This is third time Al has knocked someone out with a kick. If he says he put fajin behind his kicks, who am I to argue? Kungfu has officially rebounded from that disastrous bout 7 years sgo between that counterfeit tai chi guy Lei Lei and XuXiadong. Thanks for showing this Jerry.

Tai Chi guy flairs his arms because that's the easiest way to get into his internal structure. It helps sinks his body weight from the arms/shoulders downwards. The problem is, you can eat alot of shots if you are not careful.

It's foolish to agree to a fight only by punches. Cannot use kick, throwaway, lock, and ground fighting. If Xu fights a judoka, he will be locked soonest. This rules only fighting using punches, is only for a fool.
