I was surprised by how thin the Revstar sounded which was disappointing because I've been gassing for one hard. About 2 weeks ago I was gassing hard for a Tele though and the tele here sounded sick

They’re both the greatest guitar ever made. But, with a gun to my head on a desert island, I’d take the Tele. It’s more versatile and doesn’t weigh 65 kilos.

You dont know how much I appreciate this video! Richie was always my biggest inspiration, he is the reason why I forced myself to start playing guitar. I even used to wear those large coats he had and the peace symbol in my chest, and bend my body as the solo went to the high notes, so fun. So great. Thank you for doing this in such a passionate way and giving him the credit he deserves. Cheers man, we both enjoy the same staff, we could talk for days about it.

Yes I just googled who did the solo after hearing it on the radio & it led me to your great video here. The solo has incredible vibe & technique, not flashy but so slick & all lifts to that last note which makes the ending explode as the lyrics return, epic.

Maybe it’s cuz I’m in the states, but until Rory got rediscovered by most of us on KZbin, I’d never heard of him. I’m 41 been playing since I was 10 but it seems like starting around 2014 KZbin made a big push to push his name in our guitar community and I think more people know him now, at least stateside, than knew him in the day. The algorithm is fascinating that way.
