A shame it doesn't have an off road traction control. for instance like a Freelander 1, a vehicle introduced 3 years before the X-Trail. The Freelander has superb traction control. You wouldn't be able to demo a cross axle situation the same, as it would just drive straight out of it. Also the Freelander 1 uses a fully mechanical setup, so requires no buttons or modes or driver intervention. It also won't overheat its 4wd system when being used forcing you to have to pull over for 15 mins for it to cool down.

I have watched most of your vids but one thing I have not found is how to install recovery points at the frount of a T31. It worries me as I have done some sand driving & have recovery gear but I am unsure where to attach . I have a tow bar at the rear , so no problem but ????
@ruggedlife16 күн бұрын
@@adrianianna2868 The T31 is worse than the T30 in that regard. The T30 front tie down points are not recovery points so that is bad enough already by the T31 is worse. Unfortunately, the rear tow bar is your only option. Otherwise, consider the Bogout. Have a look at my Unbiased review playlist. There is a video there about the bogout. And also another video I created when I tested it more.

Thx. Nice and clear. Must check out Part 2. I have an X-Trail 2007 T30 with a very slow water leak. Been pressure tested and mechanics can't see obvious leak point. Little bit of white corrosion near water pump and top seal of radiator tank. Coolant checked for contamination and negative. Happy to change pump and radiator hoses tec but gee hope its not a head gasket!!

15" steelie is better but limits tyre options a bit. But you won't crack your rim, if you bend it you can wack it back to shape and you will have considerably more side wheel at the same rolling diameter.

Looks good. I hope for your vegies and fruit trees sake that you don't have many Brushtail Possums as we have heaps of them and they will eat nearly anything. They will even kill quite decent sized trees due to them eating every bit of foliage off them non stop. I've used star droppers to help strengthen permapine posts in the past. If you have the edge with the holes up against the timber you can use hex head roofing screws to screw them together. Also 2" B Class or rural Poly will slide very snugly over a star dropper to make an arch that you can put chicken wire or shade cloth over for protection. I've made a tunnel this way for our apple trees and completely enclosed it to keep out the Possums and birds etc.
@ruggedlife24 күн бұрын
Great advise! Thanks for posting it. Not sure about the bush tail possum yet but I'll soon find out I guess. I expect to make some sort of protection for the fruit trees so your idea might work well.

@@ruggedlife Shame I can't send you some photos of our apple enclosure because it has turned out pretty well but took a fair bit of time and money to get right.
