I once did a painting symbolizing my abusive father. It was a large dark figure looming over me as a child fishing in a rowboat. 20 years later, it dawned on me how much of a release it would be to destroy the painting. I burned it rather unceremoniously. That single action changed my life forever. Great video!

Its an old symbol and had been used to symbolize many things. I think turing it upside down is like turning the crucifix upside down. Like a lucky horse shoe and insead of letting the good enegy in it blasphemes it.

I'm sure there was an old 3 colour puzzle game about the regions of Paris where you couldn't put 2 same colours touching each other. I can't find what it was called. Arrondissements of Paris, but each color had to not share a boundary with the same colour. Maybe its not PC anymore lol

I get the breathing/meditation now. I holding my breath and breathing out again after each precise sweep of the compus with ink. Its a bit like swimming. My art teacher always liked my scribbly style and the marks I made with pencil and putty rubber. I then went onto Archtecture and was so usless at the precise line work but so wanted to be good. So I took up CAD to get better. In life drawing the teacher told us one day to try and be abstract , so I just drew the human figure out of circles, triangles, squares and rectangles and said he didn't mean that abstract! I think they all have things to offer. Even Architecture where the negative space is still a design element. I shouldn't have stopped drawing. I'm taking it back up :D I do HATE conceptual art. A banana duct-taped to a wall etc. I think it sums up the contempt for Art and the elitist vogue! Thankyou for this xx I think I gave up on everything 5 years ago. I'm putting the band back together now! - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYPZXn6bn7F8pZIsi=vC1jVDBYNx4Uw0nC. I do remember very vividly my teacher showing a bit of art with the life story in the detail and thought it to be so exquisite! I'm not sure if the devil is in the detail or god is in the detail but there is something important in that detail.

I watched this first two weeks ago, couldn't believe I didn't stray from the video for 50 minutes. Your voice and cadence, the way you've captured your thoughtful manner of instructing, woven with with wit and wisdom was so soothing. I arrived back today to watch again with all of the tools to embark on this journey. I'm elated to have a new outlet for moving meditation, especially as the winter months draw close. Thank you Zak! You rock!

This reminds me of a gift my grandma bought me for Christmas. There were plastic circle shapes with teeth like a gear...and you put your pencil in the middle and moved it around the main template to create these beautiful geometric patterns. I loved it.

I so need a compass. I have been trying to draw mandalas. I used a ruler. Then I cut out a paper shape to use as a pattern to trace to keep them the same size and symmetrical. Some things I did freehand.
