I don’t think it is fatigue (except for wallets) or TTRPG burnout. I think WoI isn’t getting as much buzz because mythic rules, as a game concept, just doesn’t vibe as much with most PF2 players as mythic was broken in 1E and PF2 players in general tend to hype rules lawyering and debate game balance more than most other games, making the idea of more powerful PCs less appealing to GMs as it gives the appearance of overpowered and broken rules favoring PCs (I’m not saying that as fact, just that it is a perception I have seen that many seem to share in their opinions that I have become aware of). Also, the lack of adventures and monsters is more work for GMs that are probably already dubious of because of the bad reputation of PF1E Mythic (and D&D3E Epic rules). They are not anxious to play with a rules set that gives an initial impression of encouraging PCs to be ancient superheroes that might trivialize their encounters on top of having to learn an additional layer of rules just to enable that happening to their time-invested plot preparation (because it has to be a homebrew due to lack of a published mythic AP, which equals more investment with less rewarding gameplay for the GM). In short, I think mythic fans are a vocal minority and most tables won’t be using it; so, less interest overall for this book at the end of the day compared to most other PF2 books. And tis now the season most folks are spending money on gift shopping in an economic downturn, so they have to be more choosy with their expenses this winter.

I honestly feel this is the only really awkwardly done thing in the book. I don't like that it leans to one combat style but the racket is arraying around lots of weapons, and the feats are kinda meh so it's clunky to get to the state where you can get out of the dedication. I'd honestly homebrew the Haft Striker and such section as counting as archetype feats for it. Maybe throw in Hunted Shot.

Haft Striker Stance specified only fundamental runes get shared, so your flaming or whatever won't get applied to it, just +1/2/3 and extra weapon dice. There's also no cool fighter build there (well there is for exactly 3 levels that your proficiencies match. Otherwise one of the weapons will be at -2 compared to the other since one's club group and the other's hammer/spear/polearm

Does the doom condition kill monsters with regeneration like troll?
@965276910 сағат бұрын
No, you need the death trait.
@rileymcleran289510 сағат бұрын
Yes it does. The doomed condition will lower the dying that kills it to 0 at dying 4. Regeneration prevents the creatures dying from exceeding 3 while the regeneration is active.

A small missed detail, with the Haft Striker and Beat down feats. Both feats are tagged for Fighter, and Ranger, as well as Rogue. So, multiclassing into Rogue isn't strictly necessary.

Achaekek would be a little redundant (since his Sawtooth Sabers are already sneak-attackable) but it would fit very well with all the dual wielding feats, and would actually allow you to take pretty big advantage of the Twin weapon property they have.

With zealous Inevitability, I'm just kinda wondering, how often are you taking 4 turns to kill a mook? My entire combats usually go 4-6 turns. If you're spending 4 turns attacking a mook, and they're not dying from your actual damage, I feel like you have major problems. Honestly, the incapacitate tag is terrible design and needs to go away. It basically says "Anything you'd want to use this on, is immune to it, and anything you can use this on, it's completely irrelevant".
@The_Yukki12 сағат бұрын
Yea outside of scare to death that kinda makes sense to be mook killer (big strong adventurer looks the wrong way at a goblin and they keep over is just amusing) it's just "yea here is this cool ability except you dont get to use it in any meaningful way"
@TheAssaisa110 сағат бұрын
I think the flourish trait is worse than incap in this case. At least if you could apply it twice and take out a Mook in 2 turns it would be decent

The Avenger is pretty awesome, it's pretty much exactly what I wanted from it-- its got the 4e great weapon divine assassin thing, and the fact that it adds the extra 'hunt prey requirement' makes it feel more epic because of the extra setup, it makes you come across as more specialized.

The problem with bloodrager using con as a casting stat is that getting drained would weaken your spellcasting. I think the key to the bloodrager is recognizing that it is a barbarian that casts spells, not a spellcaster that rages; that's better done as a spellcaster with the Cathartic Mage archetype with the Anger emotion. Cast Hydraulic Push to do 3d6+X once or Runic Weapon on your greatsword, be more likely to hit and do 2d12+Str+X and X/2 persistent bleed for the rest of combat? At higher level, Haste and then a cycle of Sure Strike, Melee Strike (with a fatal weapon), drink their blood and get your spell slot back... Occasionally using a spell for range or for targeting a weakness would make sense, of course, and getting the extra damage then is a nice bonus.

I guess my take on the new archetype classes is if the only important part was the flavour, that's something I could already do. Like, you can just play a Rogue, Investigator or a Ranger with a cleric or champion multi-class and say they're an Avenger or a Inquisitor. But that feels pretty rough, because there isn't a whole ton of mechanical synergy between those options and the cleric multi-class, and multiclass dedications have a feat tax for balance reasons, so it feels like I have less freedom to create an engaging build... It makes you choose between doing the things the system is designed to encourage you to do, and roleplaying. And then they release a bunch of archetypes to do it, that still have the same feat tax and don't even really support using favoured weapons better than the regular cleric dedication version for a huge swarth of character concepts due to no Deadly Simplicity... So like, what's even the point of publishing it? Like sure, the Vindicator is using a divine spell as part of their hunter's mark, but like, realistically so few things interact with divine spells that it's functionally identical to just saying 'I do extra precision damage with my hunter's mark because of divine magic' or 'gravity weapon is now divine fire coating my weapon'.

I feel you got very rubbed the wrong way about Glamour and shut down on it too hard. The Humanoid Representation could be highly flexible. Eg inscribed one could literally be a hairless, parchment skinned humanoid with white eyes, pinpoint pupils and runes all over their body, and basically just look like the personification of the patron's theme. I appreciate the personal opinion, I mostly prefer games where players don't directly meet their patron/god/etc, but you can use it meaningfully to be "wow this is the embodyment of that patron". Eg if you had a great old one patron whose form is clearly unknowable in-story, you can still take a humanoid representation of it. I wouldn't discount the feat based on the reading "you must look like your patron" given the witch flavour includes literal unknowable patrons.

Omg, this fits SO WELL for a character concept I had! I made a character a campaign that has since been disbanded, but the idea was that they were a fae prince who had their powers sealed away because they wanted to study mortal (arcane) magic, which was percieved as a disrespect to tradition and a sign of weakness. I wanted to make the character's magic progression reflect a combination of normal magic study and also chipping away at the seal placed on their powers. The "dead patron" idea works really well to reflect this loss of power, and that capstone lets me tell a story where they come into their own and unlock said magic and bring strong enough to patron others. I also really like the witch's charge feat as a way of granting my mortal followers (allies) some of my favor for their help

I feel like mythic needs another look, there are things I love on both ends. The players mythic destinies feel awesome and while strong they feel more in line than even the lower mythic feats for their levels of play. And on the DM end the cool mythic monster feats, like ending conditions and such feel good and allows them to be less bogged by easy counters. But mythic resistance and resilience are just bad at making them intereractable and fun fights. It would be different if they spent mythic points for it. Or even had methods of getting of ride of it. Like of they had no mythic points they lose it. Or if they are hit with the mythic weapon of sheers for a hair based mythic monster it would cool defense like a golem. The baseline is I want mythic monsters and players to have mythic mechanics to have good story moments. Not mythic mechanics so when I get a crit the player goes nah it didnt happen and vice versa.
