FY the writer Nojima said that the song was about everybody in her life. That it wasn't about Cloud or Zack in a video that you can find online. Also, Cloud asks about Tifa too on the Aer date

Nojima said it was NOT ONLY a love song while it has elements of that. And when you put the lyrics of Hollow and NPTK side by side you'll know exactly what those elements are about.

@@tonymaccaroni1683 I'm a neutral shipper and a non-Clerith but the lyrics are indeed Aerith confessing her feelings to Cloud. It's diehard Clotis who are the ones who want to think the song is for Zack or for everyone. It's actually in part an "I've moved on from Zack" song because Aerith was so disappointed in Zack not keeping his promises to her that Aerith now has no use for promises. With Zack, all of the promises were broken because he disappeared and never came back. With Cloud, there are no promises to keep, "we won't ever need." Is it fair to Zack? No, but Aerith definitely has hard feelings against him over his disappearance.

@@jesse1381 Well the song is indeed also for everyone and about her fate. I don't think Nojima is lying there. But choosing to leave out the part with the love elements still doesn't show the whole picture. And yes the song is clearly answering "Hollow" when you look at the lyrics. This isn't even debatable in my opinion. Also Nobuo Uematsu wrote this one as a love song as he himself put it. It would be pretty strange to give the composer such instructions if the song was meant to be something completely different. I wouldn't say this is unfair to Zack because Zack wasn't even supposed to be in this game. He was Aerith's canon love interest in the past but not anymore in OG7. I think the sources are pretty clear on that. But since CC release people are constantly misinterpreting the lore. 😅 However, we will see how much of the old canon they will keep in part 3. But I can imagine that they will be really careful with canonical changes because people have spent millions on ultimanias, merch, books and other releases around FF7. It would be very controversial to invalidate all of that with just one game.

I love the new play scene. I mean the original FF7 play scene had its charm, but this one has a lot to love about it, and love how we get the whole party reacting one way or the other. Especially love Cid's applause at the end, its one part overcompensation for having drifted off during the play, but there is a shade of "I'm proud of that girl" almost as if Cid is stepping into a parent's shoes that night. Slightly peaked ahead towards the end of the video, good to see someone else felt bad for Cait Sith, they really made his depature feel sad, and overall handled it so much better.

I love the kiss at the end. Me personally I wanted the Aerith date not because I ship Cloud and Aerith. I also ship Aerith with Zack. But the reason I got the Aerith date was for my personal liking. Also Aerith singing was everything I needed. She was the main character in that scene 😊

I'm a 33 year old man that has worked in construction and every time I think about this playable tragedy of a game I find myself crying, and yes I beat KH2 first and my 2nd play through was after I played "Days" and yea I remember hating having to play Roxas my first play through and now if I play KH2...it's hard to leave twilight town

I feel like Ansem was perfect to save for last of the Nort Trio boss fight. It goes to show we come a long way from his debut since the series began, now he's encouraging Sora and Riku to move on. And I at first thought as well he was talking to us, the players

19:50 We know why tifa is acting this way (without any knowledge from the OG). Earlier in the game, she tells Aerith that Cloud was not in Nibelheim in the flashback sequence. She and Aerith must have agreed that confronting Cloud would be bad, since he is either lying or his brain is broken. In Gongaga we see Aerith and Tifa discussing Zack after Cloud is out of earshot, so they both know what really happened. I like the small additions to the story they have made in Rebirth that will allow the player to follow the story more easily.

The Cid thing threw me the first time I ran into it, but it did give him a convienent excuse to get a bit closer to the party, and, while its not much, Aerith can say she at least has someone she knew from way back in the day...kinda... And I still love that last scene where Cid looks at the rest of the party after the landing and they are just glaring at him.

This is the kind of video I point out when people tell me how much they hated Fi. Because it tells me that they didn't play the game all the way through, or they weren't paying attention to the story. Skyward Sword may have dump trucks full of dialog, but its one of the best damn stories in any Zelda game. Fi's Lament sends me into a spiral of sadness every time I hear it. It's such a bittersweet melody that is like a gut-punch.

I played this with my 8 year old niece. At the end she started sniffling with tears down her eyes. I asked her "why are you crying" she covers her face and says "because its a good game" and started to cry in her hands. I hugged her and told her that it was a good game. Then asked me what Young Link is gonna do now that hes little again...i told her i can show you better then i can tell ya ...so i put Majoras Mask on and we started our journey with Link once again ^_^

"Why am I moving so slow?" That's the console nearly grinding to a halt as it tries to process the falling debris/particles etc. - standard N64 slowdown. I was in Middle School when this released, and played it obsessively for at least a week until I beat it. This was so technically revolutionary at the time - the first 3D Zelda game. The graphics obviously haven't really held up, but still a great game. Especially considering the whole thing was 32MB (the largest N64 cart size at the time it released)

This chapter is too emotional. From Nanaki's story, Aerith's speech, sus Gi, Avalanche memories, to Cloud and Aerith cute moments. All the emotions. Also yes! Did you see the Aerith red dress scene? Or the night garden Aerith Cloud scene? He's definitely fallen for her all the way back since Remake! lol Looking forward to see you play the rest of the game! Also, Thank you for posting the vods here. I've missed most of the streams lol Gotta catch up!

This part of the game had a lot of emotional payoffs and some great musical choices, really loved it, especially loved the avalanche followup, even if the minigame it was locked behind was far from my favorite. Between finding out about Wedge and watching Nanaki, they gave Barret some chances to show more emotion, and I love that they did that with his character. Almost feel the man is always just a step away from adopting random party members (especially Yuffie)
