ngl, as someone who used to play Yu-gi-oh and just entering the Digimon and One Piece TCGs, it both funny and frightening to see this happen to pokemon. I knew about it back then and only played for few times during the pandemic because of my nephew wanting to play so I get us each a starter deck to learn out play. I'm just scared now if this trend will FULLY flood over into where I'm entering now.

Marketplaces such as Rare Candy need to accept responsibility. Allowing third-parties to scalp and overcharge for new sets only hurts the community you’re trying to support. Put in maximum sellable prices for the first six months of a release, if someone lists over that price it’s collected as an additional fee straight to the marketplace. Sellers won’t list higher if they aren’t putting the money into their own pocket. They would either hold and risk value fluctuations outside the cap window, or put it up for auction and see how much people are willing to pay when they have the opportunity to set the price.

I was told by a friend that authenticating my sketch cards for Topps, etc. have a fee of $90 each because of the value of my art. Sucks they authenticate on card value. Its not like they are getting the money if it sells.

Good idea, if you want to buy a pack at MSRP you have to rip the pack at the store otherwise you have to pay extra to bring it home. Remember my genius idea when I come to Texas 😂

Psa and grading is a scam.

The up charge is a pathetic racket!! What a scam…..PSA already gets paid to grade the card……why should they get xtra money on top of that. It also puts already over paid PSA in a position to upgrade a card so they can get more money if the card is a great one. Do you really trust them? Do you think the 11 year old who got the Skeens had an up charge? I heard they cut one of top auction houses out from the jump. Ridiculous

Go back and look at the video & pictures of the cards. I’ve had friends cards come back damaged that got slabbed from psa. They left to psa in great shape (no corner/egde issues) and came back with damaged corners. They are fighting psa to rectify the issue. They submitted proof. But psa customer service is a mess

Problem is scalpers, investors (they are scalpers that keep the product years and sell with high prices, normal scalpers sells almost immediately with high prices) and pokemon youtubers that gets case after case products when other people must wait release day and hope that there are enough of products for them.
