Great video - thank you! I'm getting ready to replace the original transmission mount on my '97 Wrangler. The only question I have is regarding the 4 studs coming out of the bottom of the mount - I see the nuts being reattached, but what function do they serve? I don't see them supporting anything? thx!
@WheelinWithWally15 күн бұрын
@@andyschneider8221 If I'm understanding you right I think you are talking about the the 4 studs that come out of bottom of the Transmission mount that stick out through the bottom of the transfer case skid plate? If so those 4 bolts tighten the Transmission mount/Transmission down to the skid plate. So they are what actually hold it down securely to keep it from bouncing around.

I recently realized my backup lights weren't working and when I checked under the car, I saw the previous owner had just left the switch unplugged from the harness. I plugged it and and voila, lights came on. Except now the stay on all the time. Don't need reverse lights to pass the state safety inspection so I guess leaving them dead was easier than replacing the switch. I'd like to have reverse lights now and that dang switch is $46 bucks for the YJ. I'm wondering if there's any chance I can pop it off, clean it up, and pop it back in but from what I've read, the YJ starts leaking out fluid immediately once that switch is out so I don't have the logistics of this figured out just yet.
@WheelinWithWally2 ай бұрын
@@mascatrails661 honestly I'd just buy a new one if possible. You might be able to clean it but no guarantees. I've never owned a YJ so I'm unfamiliar with their setup but depending on where the switch is you could jack the jeep up on that side to make all the fluid pool away from the opening.

@@kianpashapour5906 as far as I can tell everything is still great. I haven't noticed any issues with the welds from wheeling it.
