Driving the elusive BUGATTI Chiron La Mer Argentée | RM Sotheby's Bucket List Drives 4K

Thanks to our partners @RMSothebysInc our first film of 2024 is a VERY special one as we get behind the wheel of this Bugatti Chiron in the South of Spain. It is not just any Bugatti Chiron, this is La Mer Argentée and is one of very few cars named by the factory. It was one of the first three cars to be delivered new, later upgraded to include a Sport specification and it is still a single owner car, that is before it goes under the hammer at the RM Sotheby's Paris auction on 31st January 2024.

Not my Cup of Supercar Tea. That being said, Bugatti are doing a great job in being true the brand. Which, in the 1920’s/30’s pushed all boundaries in design, performance and luxury. Enjoyed the video :)

Well, let's forget about the unreachable factor and analyse this car spec to my personal taste : - colour scheme : the chrome makes it look cheap and too busy, the car was much smoother and softer on the eye in its original silver. A warm silver colour would be just right. - body kit : supersport line for a classic trim doesn't work. It's like these BMW buyers who spec a 520d with an M line exterior pack. Just don't. - power train : no comment, let's say sufficient covers it 😅 - power delivery : I absolutely love smooth low rev high torque engine power for driveable experience so no criticism here - interior : it's a fairly small cabin, so a lighter interior would suit the car best. It's an exceptionally well built vehicle with exceptional performance and for a select audience but again, with this modification of the original car, it has been proven that money doesn't buy the best taste. It's on the edge of being tacky with that chrome wrap.

Bugatti crappy sports cars only fast in straight line. It's way too big and heavy for a real sports car. On a twisty track, the tires can't handle it because of the push-through weight.This weight problem now affects almost all super sports cars. With a lot of electronic aids they try to disguise this excess weight , but tires then still remain the limiting factor and quickly overheat when doing a lot of cornering. As a practiced driver, in sports cars like Donkervoort, you have a much more fun and pure driving experience on a circuit.
