The Latin Mass goes way back to 2nd Century actually. I’ve read this in many books on TLM. I think the Council of Trent made revisions and pretty much hammered out the final rite we have today.

Way in the back- lots of great information on the liturgical year and Saints. A great missal to own.

Not my favorite Missal. Actually, I gave it to a friend. Too much for 95% of traditional Catholics. I like the Angelus Press Missal or the New Marian Missal. More than I need for daily Mass and Liturgical Year. My friend loves it. I'm glad someone could use it!👍

Preparing to return to the Church after a 50+ year hiatus after the hippies started singing Kumbaya on the altar in 1971. In the meantime I have started collecting TLM Missals and Books of the Holy Roman Catholic Catechism. Right now I have a Missal from 1925, another from 1950, a Book of catechism from 1920 autographed by the Archbishop of Chicago, and recently a New Catholic Bible circa 1950. Only dealing in books and teachings pre-Vatican II.

It always amazes me to hear people who have no theological training and no rubrics comment on church matters. The Latin mass is the extraordinary celebration of the Eucharist, NOT the ordinary Eucharist.

So what has really happened since the Public Masses of the ICKSP has been shut down? Their Headquarters seems to have remained, and that is odd to me. Seems that St. Louis, MO or Milwaukee, or even Kansas City, MO would be a far better friendly location for the USA Headquarters. Also, I have asked many times with no answer from anyone - has the rebuilding of the Shrine of Christ the King continued? Recently, it has been reported that a Chicago Alderman for that area of the City wants to sue Cardinal Cupich because he has interrupted a a wonderful resurgence of that once blighted area. Why is the ICKSP so silent on any stand still or progress of the Shrine???

In another site, it is reported the reason Archbishop Cupich took away ICKSP faculties in Chicago is because they refuse to do the Novus Ordo in Latin. I wonder why ? ICKSP does the Latin NO in Oakland, CA, why not in Chicago?
