Difficult to judge over HP's and youtube but the Cobra seems to have better transients and purity of tone.

AN insanely overrated

Hello, my friend has an M3 preamplifier. It has the same volume controls as the M5. When adjusting the volume, loud clicks are heard. More often, when adjusting the volume, there is great discomfort. Perhaps you have encountered this and could advise how to eliminate it? Thank you.

The difference really gets diminished here. In real life (for me) there is no contest. OTO is in a different league entirely. I could live with the OTO forever after, but not with the Cobra. I own them both.

The Accuphase CD player costs $2000 more than the McIntosh. The Accuphase amp costs $4000 more. Not really a fair comparison.

The sound of these amplifiers is indeed very similar, but I still slightly prefer the McIntosh. Plus, the McIntosh and KEF system looks very harmonious together😊 Thanks!

The color combination of KEF with Accuphase is better. For Mcintosh, KEF in white/blue color are more suitable.

First, the CD players also have a significant effect on the sound so we are comparing accuphase vs Macintosh systems. At first Accuphase sounded more polite but Macintosh more dynamic and real on the first track but Accuphase was more real on second track but that might just be because I prefer the more bass emphasised tonal balance. So I would call the Accuphase better integrated sound while Macintosh is tighter and more dynamic but cant really be sure which I prefer without knowing the quality of the recordings and whether the lack of integration and smoothness I hear on track 2 with the Mac is recording or equipment driven. Based on this demo I would choose Accuphase. Thanks for the demo

I’m not very familiar with KEF acoustics, but in my opinion, they sound quite good. They have a slightly dark sound character.

Don’t these speakers need a certain toe-in ? Apart from that, Accuphase detailed yet always a bit emotionally distant, McIntosh also detailed but a bit more involving IMO

So here we go...Why didn't you use the ANE's I mean that was stupid. The Audionote gear still stole the show..Your equipment is much cheaper than mine yet it still sounded fab..The Bryston amps are very one dimensional even compared to other solid state..You might have been better with Accuphase then solid state might have stood a little chance🙂

The Arcam sounds at least equally as good as the Audio Note IMO. In regard of clarity of the singers voice even better. Hmm …interesting: shows that AN doesn’t really live up to the hype some fanboys make around it. Thanks for the demo 👌🏼
