If it sounds good, well no need to buy it. If I compare the sound from my I Mac, listening to the sound here, is very different to what I hear from my AN Oto se.

As good as the DAC Zero is, in my opinion the OTO would be (much) better served with a level two or higher source. This integrated is a lot better than it has the right to be as it reveals the quality of much more ambitious ancillaries easily. That being said, great video ! :-)

Yes, I absolutely agree with you. But when paired with a non-expensive streamer, it works perfectly fine in my opinion.Thank you!

Have you had a chance to hear any of their higher level amps, or know of their sound? tryna figure out whether it's better to go up on the amp side or the source side. to my knowledge the piece that makes the highest impact on the sound is the amp. i too have heard others say that this oto phono se sig is so good it can easily be the last amp one would buy. with such high praise for the oto, i wonder how good the higher level amps in the lineup are.. say like a level 4 audio note amp.

@@verbatim_transfer it‘s arguable, which audio component makes the biggest difference. Personally I believe that the interplay between components is what matters most: First and foremost you should buy speakers that work with your room and an amp that complements your speakers. When I refer to the quality of the OTO (or other AN amps) it’s usually in combination with AN speakers. This is where the true strength of AN lies: perfect matching of their amps and speakers for one, and speakers that work well in most rooms. Hence, which amp is the better choice for you depends on your speaker budget and room size. Generally speaking their bigger 211 amps work best in bigger rooms together with their more expensive alnico speaker offerings. The alnicos are much pricier than the non-alnico speakers. The former are also a bit less efficient and are better served with a more powerful AN amp (especially the 211, IMHO). I own a silver-wired high efficiency model of theirs (AN-E SPE HE) which works supremely well with the OTO but also caters to their low-power offerings (such as my own 2 watt Paladin) perfectly. A great step up from the OTO is their new Meishu „Tonmeister“. I would go for the silver version. If you need more grunt and have the budget, I would recommend the Tomei (211 integrated of as a stereo power amp together with their M6 pre amp). The latter setup (assuming you get matching AN speakers) will set you back at least 120K. Whereas the Meishu with matching speakers can be had for 30K or less. My advice: talk to your dealer of choice. I have heard several of their offerings from (from Level 2 to 6). The sound of their 211 amp versus their 300b offerings is substantially different enough that listening is a MUST. Your personal preference will tell you what is right for you. I think the OTO SE SIgnature and/or the Meishu Tonemeister Silver are a GREAT place to start.

@@groovesick Thanks for the detailed reply. You clearly have some experience with the brand. Audio Note is currently my top choice and plan to own a system in a couple years, unless something else peaks my interest more. I use my current neutral transistor dac/amp and neutral headphones to get a small sense of what can be had thru youtube videos of certain products. I will definitely take a listen in person at the nearest dealer before i jump in. I do like trafomatic audio as well. i have not decided whether to have a digital front end or an analog one, but either way im currently set on audio note. maybe a 2.1x sig dac with a cdt II, oto se phono sig, and some AN-E speakers. i'm not sure what to make of their turntables. i'm thinking there's better out there, but if it's best to keep the entire system audio note, then i'd do that if the sound would benefit.

@@verbatim_transfer It is difficult to add anything else to such a detailed comment .. I absolutely agree with the opinion expressed by the post above. From myself I can add, I bought my first Audio Note component more than 20 years ago, since then I have been faithful to this brand. I am constantly changing the components of my system. But Oto Phono Signature, M3/M5Phono+ Vindicator Silver Signature, and Meishu Silver Signature amplifiers I come back to from time to time again.. This is probably my recommendation.

i like the amp but ifi zen streamer is so so buggy ...i sold it right after i purchased it...why was the hum when you first hooked it up?
@Audio-Salon5 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree about the iFi. I sold my streamer shortly after recording the video as well. As for the hum, I got too close to the power transformer with the on-camera shotgun microphone, and it amplified that hum.

@@Audio-Salon lovely video. May I ask what streamer did you replace the IFI with?
@Audio-Salon2 күн бұрын
@@skithengolf I am currently using an integrated amplifiers with a built-in streamer. One of them is the Arcam SA30, and the other is the Primare I15 Prisma.

I have read many reviews, forum posts, manufactures web site,user manual etc. about this amp but I cant find one mention about a remote for volume control. Does this amazing end game integrated amplifier really have no remote control ?
@Audio-Salon Жыл бұрын
This amplifier does not have a remote control. If I'm not mistaken, of all the AN amplifiers only the Cobra amplifier has a remote control to this date.

Hi I have a question about dac 0.1x. Could it play 16bit/24bit, 88, 96, 176 and 192 khz files by coaxial cable? I have a music server which could output the hi-res file by coaxial cable, ie dsd file down sampling and output at 24/96 or 16/176. Want to know whether dac 0.1x could play those files. Thx

Have you tried single wire Lexus? (Two wires a speaker..) Currently using a single wire, but I’m thinking of adding a second for true bi wire.
@Audio-Salon2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've tried different connection options. Still, bi wire gives an audible improvement.
