I’m guessing the lower section is gloss black because the factory clear coats the whole door at one time, and they use glossy clear.

Good looking rigs, they match your house perfectly as well! I grew up in Wichita, 30 mph winds are nothing for that area. 😂 The best mileage I’ve seen in our TRX has been in the mountains, consistently get 16-17 up in Colorado.

I like the change! I think it would look better if the gloss black was white to match the body but im sure that was a lot more money to repaint that.

I was motivated by the dealer wanting $1k in labor. You make it look like a pro can do it in 3-4 hours and even a novice might take a day. You've given me some courage to tackle it myself...maybe. I'll be on the floor, which is no fun for me. Thanks for the video.

Are these cams also bolt-in for a 2005 "worst Jeep Grand Cherokee ever" 4.7L? Doing a valve cover gasket replacement and figured I'd replace hydraulic lash adjusters and upgrade rocker arms while I'm in there.... and cams too if possible! 😊

Yes! The 2008+ cams and rocker arms would be a great upgrade for any 1999-2007 4.7. Thanks for the view!

So, an update on my earlier comment: I just completed the passenger side valve cover replacement along with the full valve train service. Thanks again for your tip on securing the valve cover gasket, worth a gold star! I put a couple of drops of crazy glue where the locating bumps on the gasket are in the back. My tip on a relative pain free job: Move things out of the way! Remove battery and tray, oil filler neck and the transmission control module with bracket. Then move the AC compressor, heater lines ( push these down!) and wiring harness to the ECM (middle and engine side plugs only) out of the way. Tie off lines and wiring with zip ties as far away from the valve cover as you can. Now you have enough room to get to all the bolts and to wiggle the valve cover out and back in. And yes, I also replaced the bolt grommets and oil filler neck gasket ( was all part of the Felpro kit). My magnesium covers are in good shape too, so lucked out there.

Unfortunately non-TRX trucks will need other parts, the ABS module and the ABS HCU. Both of these parts are really expensive and are pretty involved for install.

Hey Tyler, sorry to hear of your TRX issues. I have a 23 TRX. The truck has a handful of small and large issues. Rattles, clicks, noises where there shouldn't be, leaking shock, rear sliding glass window won't stay on the track, side mirror unresponsive to adjustment controls. Just unacceptable build quality. I love the truck but what's pushing me over the edge to dump it is the dealer experiences. Im on my third CDJR dealer trying to get my truck in for warranty repairs. It seems none of the dealers want to take on warranty repairs because they don't get paid as much from the manufacturer for a warranty repair vs customer pay. They lie and BS you until you move on to another dealer. The best you get is " drop it off, there is no guaranteed time before someone even looks at it, and we don't have any loaners for you". What is the NEW car warranty worth if you can't even get an APPOINTMENT to get your vehicle in? and if you do..they won't provide a loaner. Icing on the cake; New Safety Recall - 33B : Insufficient welds in steering column that would prevent DRIVER airbag from deploying in the event of an accident. As of today, no fix. Serious enough that FCA put a STOP SALE on unsold affected vehicles. Consumers who have already purchased have to keep driving at a safety risk I guess. Once again, love the truck and don't want to dump it.. wanted to see if you have any input given your position and experience.

This has been an issue on Ram trucks with aluminum drive shafts, not just TRX, for many years. Had a ‘15 Ram R/T with the driveshaft “clunk” issue. Never got it fixed as I got used to feeling like someone had bumped my rear bumper. Good to know the cause.

My girls 2013 JK runs a bit hot after driving for 30 min or so. It has never passed the 3/4 mark on the temp gauge. I replaced the Radiator, thermostat, and coolant temp sensor, all after flushing the fluid from the system. The Jeep seems to be running well, however we did receive a P0303 Code so now I am looking into replacing the spark plugs and coil pack. Looks like this job here is really what my jeep needs. I am not sure. I hope it is just the spark plugs. I guess a compression test would help my diagnosis this?

Great video, doesn't matter how it was put together. Thanks for showing what it could do with your mods. Guessing bump stops. Took my wife's Extreme 35 out last weekend and I was shocked how easy it was to hit the bump stops. Our 2020 with Mopar lift never hit the bump stops. I'm guessing the springs are just too soft but daily drive comfort would be lost. My wife says she can definitely tell the difference between the 2020 Mopar lift and the 24 Xtreme 35.
