I’m curious to know what wheelset she uses on the tarmac. I saw she liked the bike, Just looking for her review what she thought of the wheels.

If there is one brand I don’t trust, it’s Magene. I have the C406 Pro bike computer and the L508 radar. Both stared out fine but quickly turned to garbage. C406 Pro internal battery is going bad inside a year and constantly loses paired devices. Radar worked great out the box. A firmware update severely and negatively affected the performance. Even the speed/cadence sensors are quirky. I have some that are great and others that die much too soon. It seems to me they have a quality control problem. Don’t even think about warranty support. I received several emails that I simply could not decipher. I finally just racked it all up as a loss and a lesson.

I love my reynolds 725 commuter, ridden it almost everyday since I bought the frame 6 years ago. the only thing my carbon does differently and completely acutely is it's ability to climb

I started cycling in Denver, CO. It’s a beautiful city. Then I moved to the PMW. Portland, OR. Portland is an amazing city. Some of the best riding I’ve done was in Portland! Miss the west coast.

Rim brakes (aka drum brakes) also rub. Due to frame and wheel flex. And it makes the rim itself a maintenance part that needs to be replaced (like you would a rotor). They haven't used drum brakes on cars since the 1970s (other than the cheapest of vehicles) so I don't run them on my bike any longer either.

I have been riding road bikes since 2008. Until YESTERDAY I realized that what you said is true. It is about conservation of energy. I rode a power plan for the first time and WOW how much better I felt after the ride. I always tried to go 100%, then two days of recovery. Well yesterday I did 25 miles, today I am doing 30. See ya in a couple hours!!!

I’m 62 and have been using a power meter for about 10 years. They're great for workouts, and for getting objective data on longer climbs to keep from going in the red. We all have a “feel” for how hard we can go, but I find my feel is a lot better when tempered by some objective power data. I also love being able to look back at past Strava segments and see that I’m holding up pretty well compared to the me of 10 years ago. My peak power has declined a bit, but my FTP and even 30 sec. power have held up very well. If I didn’t have the data, I might believe all those people who keep telling me how I’m getting weaker with age. It’ll happen one day, but my power meter says it hasn't happened yet!

I’ve done this ride for the past 3yrs. And everything Luis said is correct. The best organized ride EVER. The SAG stops are legendary. The rolling Box Truck along the route to help with mechanicals is a nice touch. Keep the rubber side down and enjoy the ride.

Funny you say that because the Sprint is supposed to be purpose-built for crits. Do you think that maybe an Allez Sprint with rim brakes would be better than the disc model? Don't get me wrong. I'm still a CAAD fan (two 10s and one 12) till the end, but I'm just curious
