Engineering curmudgeon and bicycle genius Hambini has had nothing but good things to say about this company and their wheel sets, in fact I don't think I've heard anyone complain about Winspace wheels. Good to know there is still a good option for rim brakes out there. Great vid as usual.

Man, I love the fact that you mentioned tubular. I’m riding some vision carbon wheels that are tubular and let me tell you they’re super light the bike super fast cruising speed on that things about 28 to 30 miles an hour with no effort as well as are just the best and I’m glad you mentioned that because you know I don’t think we need to abandon tubular you know completely, I think it’s great and they’re also in anyway excellent content man I love watching your stuff very professional thank you😂🎉

Zondas are awesome wheels.. I have zondas ans shamal ultras they are really nice 😊 must say these hyper wheels do look very nice .. Pete

I'm in the same boat, 4 years already on my current Zondas, with over 22.000 km and over 250.000m of climbing on them, and they are still going strong! I'd like to upgrade them to something lighter and a little wider, and so far some 19C ~1400g custom build with aluminium rims are the only real alternative in my books.

@@n22pdf mostly likely DT Swiss 240 hubs, Duke Roadrunner 23 rims (19.5C internal, 23 mm external) and DT Swiss Revolite spokes. Aerolite would work nice for lighter riders and reduce the weight a bit.
@Bicyclechris3 ай бұрын
My only concern with these wheels is the rim width. I have older bikes that actually may not be wide enough in the fork or seat stays to allow the brakes to open up wide enough to accommodate the 28mm external width.

One of my bikes (Steel frame) has rim breaks. I also transformed it to a 1 X instead of a 2 X. I greatly like that bike. I like the simplicity of that mechanic.

Love rim brakes but never understood the whole carbbon braking surface , just doesn't make any sense to me . Still I appreciate the fact that there is still some manufacturers that haven't forgotten about rim brakes 👍.

Luis, just trust me, try this wheelset with tubeless using Gp5000 str 700x28 with 60 - 70 psi. I have all types of high-end wheels, and the hyper is great when compared to the western sticker brands.

I rented a disc brake bike on my recent holidays in the mountains a few weeks ago. Had it for one week, and man, I can tell you, there was actually NO difference to my rim brake bikes. Disc brake bike was equipped with complete Ultegra set.

I live in a part if the Northeast where all I do is climb and descend. I'm skeptical of using a rim bake carbon rim, I know they say they have solved any issues, and if I lived in Florida I would get a set, but I'm not willing to take the risk where I live.

Hi Luis, it would be interesting to see the long term wear on these carbon rims. Early carbon rims were seen to have a problem with wearing away and delamination of the carbon. I know you have had the Roval's a while now, so maybe have a close look at the braking surface to see how they're doing?

Great review, how do these compare to the mixed depth Elitewheels you reviewed a while ago? I'm at the moment in between these two but I still think the Elitewheels ones are the best value for money.

Did you end up choosing between the two? I have the same dilemma. Both seem great value.

I was hoping a company like winspace would buy the rights to A-Force AL33 rims that went away a few years ago. People still try to hunt those rims down for alumina wheel builds.

I’m also old school and use rim brake bikes. Sadly I don’t race anymore and my tubulars are just used when ever I know I’m going to a route that is smooth. I would like to know if you have any tips , or any tires recommendation for using my tubulars wheels more often.

How does it compare to the Campy wheels you've got? And are you using Campy 12sp in a 1X configuration, on the Darkstar?

I haven't used them on the Campy equiped bike to get an equivalent comparison. Tough to say without doing that. It's 11 speed 1x 👍🏾

Do carbon wheels make any sense? If they get hit by a rock or something else that impacts the carbon structure they will fail. They make sense for a race but for someone who wants to ride their wheelset for years and doesnt race? Do they make sense.
