Good! Great balance of teaching toughness, teaching to stand up for yourself, but also teaching that just because something bad happens you need to think first, and move past it most of the times. Boys need to be tough, need to have the ability to bow up, and then learn to control that and unleash it at appropriate times....and yes...there are most definitely appropriate times.

This is good coaching, not raising punks and I love it. Baseball needs more of that.

I’ve seen a kid hit 90 EV on hit Trax. The swing speed and noise of the bat was quite different. Maybe I’m just jealous though. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The point is, how do you start your swing with your front foot in the air? What coaches mean is that if you do lift your front foot, it has to be down by a certain time or you’ll be late. Obviously, if you have no leg kick or lift, then your front foot is down. That’s the point!

There is no freaking way that slow hit was 90. Don’t get me wrong, that was a good swing, but if that’s 90 then I hit 95 with bbcor

Well said. Thank you so much for making it short and simple as well...This is a problem in all sports. I started to realize about seven years ago that I was over coaching. It wasn’t something that was pointed out to me, I actually realized it on my own and started correcting my approach. Last season, I let my athletes start to figure things out and it worked. The only thing is, not everyone understands or is receptive to this concept. The last two years, I had to deal with “colleagues” that were clueless to this concept. There were times when the information other coaches were giving was incorrect, they would inundate kids with incorrect and too much information, and it would inhibit my coaching. The kids were being told so much that I couldn’t say anything. A lot of coaches like to complicate things or think that high level technique is complicated, but it’s actually not true. I had realized that there is no such thing as “high level technique” only “high level execution.” Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to teach technique in a simplified manner and I’ve seen positive results. I had to work with a coach that loved to hear himself talk and one day had the kids sitting for 30 minutes listening to him go on and on about a certain technique. He made a fool of himself. Thank you for this video.

Everyone has a different swing and generate power. The more your head moves, the less consistent you'll be. If you can leg kick and keep your head straight, do it. If you have a problem with keeping it straight, glide the foot. Stay behind the ball and let it fly
