Very valuable information thank you so much! I own a pair of 3070s and im looking forward to get myself a pair of One15s. Knowing that they compliment eachother is very helpful. Gonna try them out soon !

Why can you hear your monitors better? Is that speaker placement or early reflections from the large surface of the analoge desk?
@TrailOfSound13 күн бұрын
Speaker placement was identical, it was the early reflections that made the difference!

Yesterday I was rewatching the video about the strat bridge pickup. 3 hours ago, exactly when you uploaded, I was legit considering throwing you a comment to upload something, because I was again impressed with the calm flow and production of that video. And I don't even do that, like never never. EERIE synchronicity. Καλά Χριστούγεννα αδερφέ!

So is this a guitar head or bass head ? Can I run it through a guitar cab ?
@TrailOfSound29 күн бұрын
It is the bass version, but the only difference with the guitar one is the lack of reverb!

There's nothing beginner about this guitar, tbh. Excellent guitar throughout, incredible quality even for a much more expensive axe.

My favourite bridge pickup sound on a strat was a Tele bridge pickup mod. I think you could replicate it with an overwound pickup and a metal plate added to the bottom... Many people actually sell baseplates for adding to strat pickups

Heavier strings help the tuning stability quite a bit. I like ernie ball burly slinky strings, bottom wound strings heavier high strings are 11s. Started using theese for my low E on my squire rolling off the fretboard. Great tone and grab.

I just bought a unbranded Jet guitar which is a hybrid between the js 300 and js 400. Supposedly it's a sample requested by the brand to try different combinations. It has SSS pickups, but a rounded heel joint. Hopefully the quality is just as good✌️

I recently got a used 140th anniversary G5230T. I love the guitar but the tuners were crap and you couldn’t use the Bigsby without it going out of tune. I had locking tuners and a Tonepros roller bridge installed, as well as new CTS pots and orange drop caps with a new set of Mojotone Mojo’tron pickups and it is now an awesome guitar. Tuning is stable and it sounds amazing.

The high frequency noise in your power supply: there may be 4 large ceramic disk capacitors near the bridge rectifier. Often their purpose is to remove rf hash noise. They take a beating over the years and eventually get noisy. Try changing them for new components.

In my opinion, the Strat bridge pickup really shines when played with a Marshall amp, just like how Yngwie, EJ, and Hendrix do.

My biggest question from your pre comparison was if you rebuilt an "upgraded" power supply or if you just built the schematics of the stock one? It's supposed to make a huge difference on these consoles -- and for the money you paid, I would say just buy an upgraded console instead of building one because you got it for so cheap already. Other than that, the real purpose of an analog console in modern recording imo is just more efficient workflow.... for some people. Some work better out of the box instead of in the box

Bendiciones!

I think people read about how wonderful this or that preamp is, and so have exaggerated expectations on the differences between preamps. If you've got a relatively transparent preamp, you can add eq or distortion afterwards. You can even "reamp" through a preamp, pushing it harder the second time round.

Oddly mine has been fine. Only minor grip is that from the factory, the action is a little high. And maybe partly because of that, compared to some other guitars (like Fenders), the upper frets can feel just a little bit cramped on barre chords for me. But the electronics, switches and even tuning have been pretty solid. That said, mine was a B-stock, so I wonder if it got returned because of issues, and then the shop did some corrective work (like refinishing the nut, lubricating or whatever), but no roller bridge - though I might put one in at some point. I really like mine, sounds beautiful with BBD slapback delay, tremelo and a Surfybear spring reverb into a Vox AC30. Looks beautiful in white gold too, though I like the look of the dark green too.

I have the Beta Bass combo 115 that I bought new in 78. It isn't working and I'm not sure how much it's going to cost to fix it! Hopefully parts are available. This was a great amp and very reliable when I was playing 6 nights a week in the 70s and early 80s.
