Thanks for this video, our Nissan QQ 1.5 dci (2010) does not start anymore (first very difficult for the last week, then nothing anymore). We first swapped the battery - which was needed regardless because it was 7 years old and running out of juice very quickly - but that did not fix the problem. So now i ordered a new starter, this video will help me to install it and hopefully fix the problem. will update!

Hey, hope you’re doing well. I managed to switch the engine torque mount with the video I made on it and now I wanted to replace the glow plugs as I’m getting the error P0381. I remember you said in some video you had a friend at Renault and that’s how you had the info on bolt sizes and torque, could you tell me the voltage for the flow plugs so I can get the right part or redirect me to where you got the glow plugs from, I’d appreciate it. Thank you once again💪🏼

The glow plugs I got from my local motor factors, I think they were bosh. All you need to do is give them the reg number of the car and they will find the correct ones, for the Laguna they are a very common glow plug that are used in many cars so they probably have them in stock I hope this helps.

Great video mate, thank you very much. Would you consider removing the complete subframe way harder than what's shown here? I wanna replace the subframe bushings and the whole anti roll bar together with it's bushings. Subframe must be completely out the car. Is it doable to detach the steering rack from the subframe and keep it on the car? I'd like to not mess with the power steering lines or the steering rack at all
@quickfixmechanics
@quickfixmechanics 21 күн бұрын
I did end up removing the subframe to replace the steering rack. It’s not hard to remove but takes a bit of time, if I was you I’d disconnect the steering shaft as it’s only a c clip that holds it together, when lining the spline back up it can be difficult to slide it on completely but if you have a long pry bar you can tap it down from the top of the engine bay and just fit the c clip on then. Just follow the lines from the power steering reservoir and you will find a few 10mm nuts and remove the heat shield as there is I think two 10mm nuts under that as well. Good luck with the job and I’d recommend you have a second pair of hands with you to make it easier. If you need any more assistance just ask and I’ll try my best to answer any questions you may have

Nice disclaimer :)) . I recently changed all engine+gerabox mounts . I made the mistake of not supporting the engine when i changed the upper 'hidraulic' mount . The engine did sag and twist a bit . No big issue , but without an M10 threaded rod i could not pull the engine back in its place . -I could , but i would have to lift it up again , put on stands again , remove engine cover and mount a small hidraulic jack on the bottom of the engine somwhere . Problem is...:) :D , i already did this for the gearbox mount , and i was hoping to simply change the upper mounts one by one... That was a mistake ... So if anyone reads this , save yourself 2 hours and keep the car and engine jacked all the way . The lower mount and the upper rear left can be changed without jacking the engine . Another important bit is the necessity of some small crowbars , can be as simple as a pipe - for the lower mount , as you don't have enough space for good leverage , you will understand when you get under the car...:D . In retrospect a Crowfoot wrench would have been really useful for the upper 'hidraulic' mount -as you don't have enough space from the coolant expansion tank. All in all straightforward procedure .
