I agree that Christianity unfortunately has taken in alot of Greek religion and even worse, Gnostiscism, however rather than Jewish religion it comes from Israelite religion as in the twelve tribes of Isreal (Jacob) who received the Abrahamic covenant from Jehova. Jewish religion only delves into the Torah (first five books of OT) and Talmudic principles along with Pharisee kabbalistic writings that birthed Gnostiscism, which should be completely separated from Christianity

And my definition of Gnosticism is simple - preference of Plato over OT and god, not the type of complicated religious/mystical gnosticism you talking about that is born from Kabbalah and any other mystical religiosity. Kabbalah wants to marry this gnosticism to OT. I want them divorced. And i dont want any version of gnosticism born from kabbalah; and i dont even want to talk about Kabbalah since they always have the excuse to be slippery claiming it is too complicated to undersrand and draw conclusion on. I want the pure version born from Timaeus’ idea that creator god is an inferior being not worth our attention, nothing more, not the religious part about how god uses geometry to create the world in Timaeus, much less anything from Kabbalah. I dont want any religious element with which Kabbalah is teeming. In short, i want to focus on the Forms from which god himself learns, not on god and his revelation. In contrast kabbalah wants to focus on revelation. They want to make their god more than what the bible says so he can escape the insult of being a mere demiurge, and thus arguing that the bible holds secrets and therefore we should not have contempt as being the work of a mere demiurge. This is not the gnosticism i was advocating. Also what do you mean gnosticism (my version) comes from Kabbalah? You saying Plato comes from Kabbalah? Why then did Philo, a Hellenic Jew influenced by Plato years later, lived before Shimon bar Yochai who was the purported author of Zohar, if moses de leon is not the real author? Gnostic ideas come from many different sources and I was speaking about the Jewish form evolved from pharisee teachings in Judea, not the ones born from Greece or Persia as I'm less familiar with those. I personally believe Christians should learn from the Bible as opposed to outside sources so I'll have to disagree with you on your viewpoint however I respect your opinion and knowledge of the subject
