This was cute. The chemistry between Van Dyke and Moore was still there. The only thing that was a stretch was Richie moving back into the house 30 years after his parents moved out and having the same furniture and phone number. But that's part of the charm. Carl Reiner got right back into the Alan Brady character without losing a beat.

No disrespect to MTM may she rest in peace but she had a certain style of delivering a joke with her face. She had great expressions that were comical. She can't do it here because of the face lift. I see alot of that now. The nuances that made them attractive are ironically gone. Just sayin.

in the intro there was no mention of 'mel cooly" played by richard deacon. he was in almost every episode. there was also no mention of frank adamo, that mysterious background actor who popped up in almost episode and was given a few lines in some later episodes. that's all very disappointing.

This has got to be the “Mandela Effect”. In my reality, “The Mary Tyler Moore Hour” did not exist. MTM only did movies after her Mary Tyler Moore Show.

I remember watching this when it aired and I thought it was a total misfire, the turkey of the year and a huge misuse of talent. I thought it tried way too hard and failed miserably. I was right!

What in the world is this concept? The Dick Van Dyke Show exists, but Mary is playing a different Mary here than Mary Tyler Moore, who doesn't know Dick Van Dyke? This is insanity. Keep it simple, folks.
@fromthesidelines7 ай бұрын
In the fictional context of "THE MARY TYLER MOORE HOUR", she's "Mary McKinnon", star of a CBS variety show (that's obviously on its last legs). And *she* only got as far as audtioning for Rose Marie's role on Dick's sitcom in 1960 {or so she says}. 😉

Dick Van Dyke was born in 1925? Which makes him about 79 in this reunion yet he looks more like he's in his 60's with prematured white hair rather than a man about to turn 80.

I loved this show. Such fantastic memories. MTM was such an incredible natural beauty, it's a shame she decided to have "work" done. Her eyes look so unusual now, much like others who have had too much plastic surgery done. She didn't need to do that. Rest in peace to her though. Also, to the rest of that wonderful cast who have passed on.
